So maybe they did do all the silicone themselves but when she's put together it's with parts which may not have been painted together

I saw some comments as a joke in various posts but can't recall a specific post regarding it, what you linked says it doesn't exist anymore, though.

Either way, it is what it is now, doubt anything can be done about it, still got a bit of the skirt broken from customs. JND said they can fix it but need the whole statue, not sure I want to risk sending the statue in again and come back with another issue or for customs to open it up again.

Regarding face sculpts of JND they are, for me at least, around the 90% or above. I've said countless times that the overall presence of the statues more than make up for not being 100% bang on. I think the arguments of saying collectors just say they're good to make themselves feel good about the purchase is dead in the water. It'd be a just point if it was regarding one statue but most collectors have several.

With this release, for my eyes Queen Studios looks better, I do like the more regal BTS look with nicely draping clothing and the face and especially the hair look better. However, I still really like the look of this, for me this represents the film a lot more whereas the Queen is more the character. Again, I'm not risking a huge quality drop from Queen, I'd rather wait and see if I got the wrong piece.

That's weird maybe it does that when it's private links, the post was of JND's email response to the customer. Maybe need to see a couple years from now if there's any issues with the silicone. That sucks about the skirt I hate hearing all these things about customs messing with stuff.
90% likeness is very generous but we all see things differently, I saw someone say they now hold JND to the Harley Quinn 2.0 standard since they've shownt they are able to get such good likeness which is kind of how I feel too. But I am very interested to see if Queen drop the ball with production, they'd be very stupid to not give this all of their attention.

Also, funnily enough it's actually a lot of JND collectors that are able to criticize the pieces without pure blindness of love for them. It's mostly non-collectors here that absolutely love to hate on every release in spite of seemingly not liking the company or the products.
Thank you, couldn’t have said it better.

A couple people have already mentioned the Queen Art looking better, yet no one wants to take a risk on it.
This is where I’m at. If we could put the JND duster in QS and guarantee QS could actually replicate the proto, I’d be willing to PO.

Either one would be the most expensive thing I’ve ever purchased. Waiting for a local store to list them so I can really see how much one would set me back.

Typically, due to the immense markups, I just take the average price in dollars and replace the $ with a £.

I'd say usually more than that with our import tax over here, it might cost me £1000 extra when JND Guts is ready to ship from Spec since I couldn't find a UK retailer 💀and for example JND Indiana Jones from the UK retailer Collectiblesdirect was almost £1400 more than direct

Really interested what they said, would you kindly be able to get a screen grab of it if it's still available for you?

Yeah, it's still grinding my gears. It initially came to me with a huge paint rub of the Silicone on the back thigh, so JND covered the return and sending it back to me and repaired it, fixed it very well. Somehow, either in the repair or packaging/travel part of the skin on the front thigh was puckered, they again made good on it, completely fixed it somehow, even kindly redid the hair for me, sent me a video of it to show the repairs. Then Korean customs opened it, so it got to me wit the lasso and pin off, part of the skirt decimated into pieces and the hair astray. Reached out to JND and they, somewhat understandably, said they can no longer cover repairing it, they would do if I can ship it to them and pay a repair fee. For me, though, the cost of sending it out again to repair the small skirt fragment doesn't seem worth it. They could repair it and it could incur more damage or be inspected again and become more damaged.

The issue with these things are because it's repairs, and what I faced with FedEX, they go by the refund process as listed by the cost of the repair, which in my case was next to zero, as JND had to list a price, and not the initial cost of the statue despite having the receipts and proof of cost of item. Literally the worst aspect of buying these things is that some ******** in customs will open them up and damage without consequence. In my situation I'm screwed because I've used my repairs and the items delivery price isn't the cost of the item.

I did reach out to JND saying that I would rather sculpt the small fragment and paint it. I asked if I could send it in for them to do but they refused as, ironically enough, they'd need the piece to match the rest of the skirts paint application. I then asked if they could just let me know the paints they used and I can mix it myself and apply it, they refused because of their paint secrets (how telling me which paints they used for a one-off statues skirt is going to affect that I have no idea.

So if anyone has any experience in sculpt material to replicate the type of plastic JND uses along with paint knowledge, would greatly appreciate it!

Yeah that'd be great. Although I think the cut and hang of Queens for me is better, I can see that JND's probably is the better materials. I just hope that the belt isn't plastic.

I'd say wait it out if you're not sure 100%, they are a lot of money. Queen could come out with an absolute home-run and be the winner, you'd be kicking yourself if that happened. Then again, It is a really low ES for JND, you might be able to snag one after release, depends how good it comes out and what if any changes also.

I just hope that the belt isn't plastic.
Unfortunately, it is.

From their own product listing-

Wow I didn't know that was a thing about the cost of repair being listed is that normal? I thought it was always based on what an item is worth. But I think all statue's should be shipped with that black wrap stuff around it, I get that from some retailers and it seems to protect the shipper box which I like to keep, prevent (so far at least) customs opening it and stop advertising what's inside. I had a delivery guy asking about my Queen bust, saying everyone at the facility was wondering about it because they could see all the info on the side, edition number etc so it would be easy to google and see the cost of these things.
Hopefully you can get the damage fixed I didn't know the skirt was made out of that.

So annoying, they could use leather but won't...

But then again they've listed the sword as resin too but on Facebook James said it would be die-cast.

Would be nice but he first thing I thought when teaser 2 came out was 'Eww, is that a sculpted belt?'

The bed roll and quiver are also sculpted with real straps.

So, solid sculpted boots, belt, and backpack. Rubbish.

Who wants a sculpted statue!?...

I argued with numerous Fedex agents, of various positions this - saying I get the technicality of the specific shipment it occured damage being listed as $100, but if they stopped looking through the technical view and actually acknowledged, both receipt of statue from its purchase, plus the listed cost of original shipping, they could see that the damage was not to a $100 dollar statue but over 3k.

JND listed it as a repair item, because I suppose "technically' that is what it is by that point. If they listed it at its full value they'd not only have to cover the cost of return and sending it back to me, but also the income tax on the original cost also, so therefore they list it as a repair item.

And yes, I believe customs do it just because they can if they want a look.

... So annoying.

The only reason why I moved to statues is because JND was clothing. Real materials, silicone because it depicts skin the best etc. So why when you can make a cloth bag with real cloth, would you chose resin to depict it the best? Don't get me wrong, their sculpting and printing is next-level. But next-level still isn't as good as the actual thing.

Another reason why I wanted to go with Queen Studios on this piece.

Sword made of resin too..
Such odd choices. I expect more from JND given the way they've positioned themselves as a brand. I've been going back and forth between which to PO and I think between the likeness and materials Queen is the winner.

As someone who's bought both Queen and InArt products, I am concerned there will be a fall off in the likeness between this proto and the production. Hoping since it's their first 1/3 silicone they feel like they have something to prove so it'll be their best work yet.
