Okay, quick review...

HORRENDOUS:
Whip

BAD
Hat shape isn't quite right (didn't notice it in early pix, but in hand it looks too narrow at the top).

OKAY
Pant color (not great, but definitely not as bad in hand)
Lean (it's just a little off compared to the prototype, but he definitely looks like there is a slight backward lean happening).
Right side of his face is where it isn't quite right. Any photo's that favor his left side look nuts, but the Scott Bacula thing only comes into play from the right side.

Overall: definitely happy I got it, and it's by far the best Indy collectible I've ever seen - but - like all JND, still too expensive.

Very nice! I agree, after receiving both Batman '22 and Reeve Superman, it's very clear almost all photos don't do justice the quality and presence of seeing a JND statue in person. Very much looking forward to Indy arriving, and attempting to capture it in photo. I'm very tempted to upgrade this however with new bulky and weathered pants, new accurate hat, etc.

I'm definitely going to upgrade the whip, and I'll see how cking's hat turns out, and if it's good I might go for that as well.

I'd be up for the Raiders pants as well, but got no idea where to get some made and then how to fit the damn things! :ROFLMAO:

Wouldn't normally bother posting something like this as it's full of all the "camera issues" we all speak about endlessly, but.. it's worth checking out the Cinemaquette comparison at the end.

I think the Cinemaquette is actually Indy's European cousin, Giovanni Jones.

I personally think they look really good and I am happy I decided to purchase them.

Thanks for the images and mini review. Planning to order this one soon.

Can you elaborate on what's horrendous about the whip?

I agree with your points on the likeness and overall product. It's not perfect and there are a few things I wish they could have improved but I don't see anything else on the market that even comes close so it's a purchase for me.

The top one is the one that comes with it, where the braiding is really bad, cheap, poorly done, and not to scale. The length is too short and the "handle" is way too big. It's an abomination.

The one below is what cking had made by an actual bullwhip maker. See any image from any of the films and you'll see the braiding is so tightly woven that the surface of the whip virtually becomes smooth.

A friend of mine bought the dual pack and it also arrived yesterday - he's over the moon! He sent some pix, but they look like crap because he did them on his phone, so I won't post them.

No doubt you'll love them!

BTW: for anyone that's getting them, make sure you watch the JND unboxing on how to set them up. My friend didn't, and had no idea that Indy's arms come off so you can take the jacket off to put the bag over his shoulder, under the jacket.

Where is the info on the upgrades? I have this on order and would love to see what upgrade/mod options there are.

If you go back through the thread you'll find cking has got a ton of upgrades. I can't remember where he got all of them, but I sure he'll happily point you in the right direction.

This is night and day. Can we organize getting more of these for those that want to upgrade?

These two angles have some decent HF likeness. Most of the angles to me look like an upscaled version of the 1/6 HT Indy DX headsculpt, which did have its fans.

Still a super impressive piece. Love to see some pics next to something for scale like 1/4 or 1/6 figs, or something real-world. Just to judge what it looks like in a room.

Oh dear. I'm not even sure if my upgraded parts are going to save this. The leaning back pose is so strange and unnatural looking. Unlike some of the recent photos of the Reeve Superman which does show it off really well (and of course, it is fantastic in hand), I'm just seeing so many things that they could have done better on Indy to really make it shine. I'll wait until mine shows up of course, but if seeing it in hand doesn't change my mind, I'll be putting my Raiders upgrade parts up for sale.

The huge elongated pocket flap on the jacket is really bugging me. They got it correct on the prototype but when the costume got transferred over to production. they screwed up the pattern of that pocket flap. Frustrating as it's such an easy thing to correct.

Someone at JND needs to get a better grasp of how big heads should be on some of their statues. This Indy head is too small (and so is the Chris Reeve Superman). Not as much of a deal breaker in hand as how it appeared in photos but even so, it should be very easy for them to test print the sculpts to get the size correctly proportioned to the body that it's going to be fitted onto and make any necessary adjustments in size before it goes into production.

You can purchase the highly accurate 1:3 scale Raiders bullwhip from Joseph Strain at the Northern Whip Co. Incredible piece of leather work from Joe

Quick nasty pic with 1/4 Paul Atreides.

Indy looks pretty dang good there. I get the complaints that people have but still think I'll order and be happy with it overall.

Yikes! I hope Indy is shorter than the Reeve Superman. The Batman looks a lot shorter than Indy in that pic but Pattinson is 6ft 1" tall which is slightly taller than Ford was when he was younger! Ugh.

My Indy will be displayed right next to the Reeve Superman, so I really don't want them to be the same height because the actor's certainly aren't. Please tell me they haven't screwed up Indy's height as well. :(
