Man, we've come a loooong way...

The whip and Fedora are still better on the Sideshow PF Indy (thanks to Trevor Grove's sculpting skills).

Off memory, the whip was plastic, which makes it even more baffling the path JND chose. If they couldn't get the leather version to work properly at that scale, they should have just done a sculpted whip like the SSC. I know the JND hat is no where near perfect, but the whip is in it's own league of wrong. Literally, the single worst piece of work JND have ever done. A genuine embarrassment.

It's funny looking back at the SSC Indy, because now you really notice how wrong his proportions were; the legs look short and stumpy, the torso is also too short, etc.

At the time it was a masterpiece though, because the only other thing that was considered a "grail" piece prior to that was the Toys MCoy - and I remember them going for $1100 or more on eBay back in the day!

Yes- typically with me, I had to upgrade the hell out of it. New paintjob on the head and hat, fantastic MFisher gunbelt and holster etc.

I thought you may like these @Mandible :)
Your fantastic photo reminded me of the photo used on the front cover of the Complete Making of Indiana Jones book by JW Rinzler, so I put the photo you took onto the cover.
