Thanks for sharing the new cape. Looks really well made though I think it’s coming in a little tight around the neck, particularly around the clavicle area. Is there a way to futz that to be a bit more open?

Also, how’d the gold/yellow S on the back come out?

I popped my Prime1 '89 Batman onto the base and was pleased to see that Prime 1 didn't "lie" about Keaton's height. They've captured his height very accurately and as you can see, Reeve was a lot taller than Keaton.

Are generic 1:3 statue bases available to purchase anywhere?

I just got the duo Batman/Wayne 89 statues but the Prime 1 bases are so massive in terms of height (6 inches), that it won’t fit in my MAX 140 Plus Moducase.

the Keaton statues w/ base are about an inch too tall and MAX 140 Plus is the tallest case Moducase sells (in terms of the horizontal models) unless you go custom.

JND’s minimal bases are the the perfect size to maximize space (about 3 inches tall).

I'm still trying to take a good photo of this, but I'm not even close to showing how real it looks in person though. :(

Can anyone here do a casual photo dump of this statue in natural light? Preferably in 2x zoom to avoid distortion. I’ve only seen one shot of it being really good but only because the hair was beefier on the sides. I want to get it but I’m not sure if I’ll regret it 🥺

See my photo above...BUT...don't rely on photos to make your decision because I haven't seen anyone post ANY photos or videos that shows how good it is when you've got it in front of you. It's FAR, FAR better in person. I thought I was going to sell mine as soon as I received it because I was underwhelmed by the photos I saw if of it, but wow - in person, it's SUPERB and consequently, not for sale! :)

My advice is that if you're mainly interested in getting this piece to share photos of it on social media / forums - don't get it because as mentioned, it's difficult to photograph to capture how good it is in reality. If you want to own the best statue of Christopher Reeve as Superman that we're likely to ever see (at any scale) when you go into your display room - buy it 100%.

I agree and disagree. While it is difficult to capture the expeirence of seeing the statue in person, it isn’t impossible and if it’s as good as we claim then I think showing it off to the best of our ability will be beneficial in helping future buyers who couldn’t get it inititally see why it’s really good. I saw a bust of reeve that somehow looked a lot more like him. There’s also the case of other JND statues like the Batman and JL Wonder Woman which come to mind that I’ve seen consistently being much more easier to casually photograph and see the likeness but still somewhat difficult.

It took me a few attempts to capture the essence of what I see in person for The Batman but using natural light and my phone camera using 2x zoom got the best shots. My aim with photos is to represent how I casually see the statues in person. Ironically the lower photo quality helped avoid the silicone being noticeable.

In any case here are the best photos I’ve seen including the one you shared recently that showcase strong likeness. Got it from FB and It seems modifying the hair on the sides elevates the figures more as seen in the photos. I think i may eventually pick him up but i really do wish there was consistently better natural shots of him around.

It's better in person than any of those photos you've posted if that's any help. (Even without pulling the hair out at the sides). I'm certainly not discouraging you from taking photos of your statues. I'm just saying that I've yet to see a photo of the Chris Reeve Superman and Clark which shows how good it is when you've got it in front of you.

My very good friend and MASSIVE Christopher Reeve Superman fan (Martin Lakin of Capedwonder Europe and SUPERMANIA Youtube channel) came over to my place to have a look at the statues this week. I've sent him pretty much every photo shown online and he hasn't been totally convinced by any of them. (Including my own photos that I'd tried to shoot of the statues since receiving them).
However, when he set eyes on the statues, he went silent and actually said he was speechless when I asked him what he thought about them. They're THAT good.

I seen it in person since than and I thought maybe looking at it in real life with my own eyes may change my mind. My opinion did not change.

What isn't really showing on the majority of the photos is how lifelike it is. The quality is fantastic but I would not say the features suddenly changes compared to the high quality photos you guys are doing . The piece looks the same to me.

From the front it doesn't really look like Reeve just resembles him. From certain angle it is better but I would still say the sculpt is 80% there (Clark is a lot better. He is pretty much perfect) but no more. I am still waiting for my definitive Reeve Superman. I think on the sculpt front this statue can be improved a lot. On the realism front...well it is as perfect as it gets.

We all see things differently of course, but on receipt of this - it became MY definitive Reeve (although it certainly wasn't when I was just looking at photos and videos of it before mine arrived). Same when my buddy saw it in person - he was a naysayer up until that point, then was lost for words when he stood in front of it. Ironically, my friend had always thought Clark was better based on photos, but when photographing and videoing them both, he focused almost exclusively on Superman. Poor old Prime1 Michael Keaton Batman was giving a couple of minutes viewing time with mostly positive comments about it, then the focus was purely back on the JND Superman. LOL
