Chapter 4 was such a great send off to the character. Is this a case of studio greed?

I really wanted to see John's story end while the team was at their best. I don't see how Chapter 4 can be topped. I love this franchise. But I don't want to see the creativity brought down because of greed.

I wonder if they will do a prequel or sequel.

I just watched Chapter 4 this weekend and I agree with above that it was a great send off to the character.

If they're going to make another - instead of him returning from the dead, I would prefer to see a prequel where he's given the "impossible task" to get himself out the first time.

Can't do a prequel. Sometime in between JW2 and JW3, Father Time finally caught up to Keanu and gave him jowls. We thought he'd look young forever, but in the end, that ******* Time gets us all.

It's not as noticeable in JW 4 cause there's actually a time jump, but JW1-3 are all supposed to take place over a matter of a few days. I watched them back to back about a year ago and it's quite jarring to see him age so much between movies even though it's supposed to be the same day that JW2 left off.

I really liked the first one, and I think 2 and 3 had some stand-out sequences, but the fourth one did nothing for me. Without any emotional weight behind his mass-murder spree, it all just became so repetitive and dull. I can only see a man in his late 50s get life-ending injuries and just shake them off to keep fighting so many times. After the first two dozen times, it gets really boring.

I read that they would continue, even without Keanu. Not sure how they would do that, but they could re cast and do prequels.

I don't think they need to continue, he was released of his duty and died at the end. Ended perfectly. Though I wasn't a big fan of chapter 4. It barely had a storyline and was just fight after fight, moreso resembling a video game, rather than a movie. Granted I watched this on a plane and was feeling a bit sleepy. Will need to rewatch to see if I feel any differently about it.

If John Wick’s inner circle would just learn to block his number and stop answering the door for the man, so many lives would be spared.

If the filmmakers can keep coming up with action sequences as insanely choreographed as the Paris sequence in 4, I’m all in to keep watching John get his friends and acquaintances murdered.

Agree so much with you about part 4

Well, everyone knows my opinions are tainted with negativity and scorn, but I just didn't care for this one at all. I can honestly say there wasn't any point that "wowed" me. The action was same-y every few minutes it really got tedious quickly.

I loved the first one and really liked the two sequels. But they lost me with this one.

Also, why does Hollywood insist on casting strange-looking Japanese women? You can't throw a rock in Tokyo without hitting 16 beautiful women, yet you only see the oddest looking girls in Hollywood productions. I'm looking at you, chick that played Yukio in "The Wolverine."

She Japanese lady in JW4 is in no way ugly, but she's not conventionally beautiful like movie stars used to be. She's more "fashion runway exotic" looking than anything else. Weird choice.

From the industry grapevine, something I'm hearing is one of the proposals for a new Wick related TV show is essentially an anthology series.

For example

One episode following the life of Jimmy the police officer in Wick's neighborhood. That would bring back Thomas Sadowski.

One episode following Perkins, the assassin from the Continental hotel in the first film. Would bring back Adrianne Palicki.

One episode following Auriello, the "car guy" and his shop. Would bring back John Leguizamo.

Etc, etc.

IMHO, there's quite a bit of range here. The "Sommelier" aka the weapons guy in JW2, the homeless assassins in JW2, Common as Cassian, Ruby Rose as the mute assassin, the switchboard operators, the doctor who fixed up Wick in JW1 and JW2, etc, etc. Lots of world building potential.

Be interesting to see, not sure something like this can get greenlit without the proper financing and it's hard to get financing without a true bankable "star" to anchor the cast.

I really don't want a part 5 because part 4 was such a great film, if not a little long, and perfect send off to the character. I don't mind if they want to make a movie starring Caine or Nobody or whoever else to keep it in world, but leave John behind. The character doesn't need to become a Fast and Furious type of joke.

I know there's also the possibility of doing stuff with John before he got out...maybe that's fine so you're not bringing John back for more after part 4. I keep seeing people throw around a movie where we see the Impossible Task...I don't want that. Much like how I didn't want the "Solo" movie because I thought part of the fun of Han Solo was his mysterious background, I want the Impossible Task to stay this thing of legend that we can build up in our minds as to what it was. I'm tired of everything needing to be shown to the viewer.

Keanu would be 59, maybe even 60, by the time they'd start filming more of him as John Wick. I know he takes great care of himself and looks ten years younger than he really is, but do we really need to drag this out until his ability to do things is compromised and these movies stop being special?

Tel that to Ford. PLEASE!

I hope they bring back the original writer of the first 3

I just watched 1-3 and no way part 4 was continuation that the original writer had in mind after part 3.
