Just thought I would make this thread because I'm so excited. So who has their tickets to see John Williams conduct his most excellent movie music at the Hollywood Bowl next week? I just got mine last night, I know I was late, but my seats aren't bad. Only wish I could have afforded the Garden Seats, but alas, I get to go. I'll be bringing my maul lightsaber and give one my company so they can flail it around as he conducts star wars

No, thank God, I think one of Steven King's relatives lives there. :lol

I think I'll be going on Saturday. I've never been to the Bowl - are there actually 'seats' in the cheap areas, or is it grass seating?

The seats closest to the stage are the most expensive, and receding back from stage gets cheaper. The grass seats I believe are in the very back, behind X on this picture. Pretty much everything but Garden, Terrace, and SuperSeats are pretty cheap; and the rest are bench seating. DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR LIGHTSABER !! :chew :chew :chew

I hate all you Americans getting to see Williams do these concerts, lol

I'd LOVE to go to one of these

Yea, he does a yearly concert at the Hollywood Bowl (gone 3 years running !!!) which is pretty cool. But what DOES annoy me is that when he had conducted say like 10 songs, he goes offstage. Then the crowd applause comes, then he comes back out to conduct another song. Then the crowd applause comes again, then he comes back out to do another song, and then he goes back. But this is like 5 minutes inbetween coming out and leaving again. SO ANNOYING, he could have conducted a song inbetween going off and coming back.....BUT, apparently that is how it is done with anybody, so I'll just have to live with it....

It's called an Encore and the audience has to work for it. It's been that way with live concerts for millenia.

After Rome burned the Romans had to applaud really loudly for Nero to come back out and do another fiddle solo.

I HOPE he plays the SUPERMAN theme this year, last year it was played in a medley and for 5 seconds, and for any of the people who last year yelled "STAR WARS" during the "Schindler's List" theme, you're all scumbags.

NO encore !!! He should be conduct until either he falls asleep, or I decide I've heard enough. That is the only way.

I'll look for your saber while I sip wine and have my girl feed me grapes seductively. :lol

I'm excited for tomorrow. Can't wait, I'll be sitting there in my Darth Vader Baseball Jersey enjoying life. :chew :chew

I wish I could go to one of those, he did come and do a concert like last year or something in Dallas at the American Airlines center (Big stadium where the Mavericks play) but I wasn't able to go.

That sucks, you would have loved it. If you ever get another chance to see him, jump on it.

ALL I know is that I had a blast last night at the concert. There was no choir, so no Duel of the Fates or Battle of Heroes; but it was great. Too bad there was this woman next to me who kept talking throughout the concert. When I said something, she had the gaul to look upset. But I digress, great concert and looking forward to it next year.
