Funny when she first came out she wore all this crap on her face we couldn’t see her. Then finally she stopped wearing ******* atire and I finally saw her and she’s so hot imo. She’s seriously beautiful 😍

You are 1000% correct.
This movie will either be such an awesome change of pace or will be an unmitigated disaster
But that is what most of us thought about the first film before the trailer release.

All I can say is, I genuinely applaud the risks being taken here - win or fail this will at least be an interesting and original change of pace for the genre with imagination and passion behind it, which is a damn sight better than 99% of other comic book movie stuff coming out nowadays which are almost paralyzed by fear of not conforming to the genre's cookie-cutter template.
MCU and Sony [non-animated] properties are now so generic and bland that they can't even fail in an entertaining way - Madame Web isnt even in the "so bad its good" range and the only movie the MCU has coming I am even remotely excited for is Deadpool and Wolverine
But I am excited for Joker 2
If it works its gonna be one hell of a weird and twisted and interesting addition and if it fails it can only do so with style - that's the consequence of them taking such a bold stylistic move.

For what its worth, I think the idea has a lot of promise, a musical "romance" story thats actually about a deranged couple of psychopaths warping their shared POV so that their murderous and criminal antics become a saccharine musical love story?
That is the sort of insanity that really gets my toast buttered.
It also strangely inspires more confidence in me than if they simply stuck to the tone and structure of the first film, the first film was lightning in a bottle and I genuinely think them simply retreading old ground would have invited criticism and potential failure, as it would not have been a work of passion but a studio obligation because the first film did so well.
This has passion written all over it - and that inspire confidence and excitement in me.
Lets hope its warranted! :ROFLMAO:
I'm guessing the "musical" part is them in their head space doing their crazy thing, dancing to the chaos. Arthur did do that a few times in the first one.

Lightning in a bottle? I'm not so sure it's that special. It owes a great deal to Taxi Driver, which to my eye is infinitely a better film.

With that said, I am mildly curious about this one. Though I do think they're chasing Oscar's to be honest.

There was something very contrived and empty about the first film; not that it wasn't technically well-executed. My initial reaction to it wasn't good and I haven't mellowed towards it since.

From what I've seen of the sequel it looks like it's going to be stylistically and technically executed with precision but given my take on the first, I can't imagine I'll find much artistic merit in this one. Of course, I could be wrong, having not seen it.

I felt the same way. It was clearly a pastiche of Joker and Taxi Driver. They even threw DeNiro in there as a way to try to lampshade it, but honestly that only works for plot inconsistencies. It doesn't count if you wink at the idea that you're cribbing your movie from an Oscar-winning film.

I just cannot find the beauty folks see in her. No amount of makeup will change that hideous horse face and frail, skeletal body. And that huge beak of a nose.. 😂

She always looks different. Camera angles, lighting and make-up can do a lot. Even her weight fluctuates with each role. She's no Gal Gadot but I think you're being a bit harsh on her looks.
