Congrats to Martin and the team at SS on this winning best collectable 2012. Well deserved. It really is a brilliant piece in person. The only thing stopping me getting that Mallet custom is the possibility that Harely Quinn holding it like Artgerms artwork.

Seriously need to buy this. Really skint right now though. Annoyingly though I was so close to buying this last week, I sold my HT IM VI on ebay but the buyer didn't pay

SS did not really base this on any one artists but it does tend to look most like Brian Bolland's style. He did the art for The Killing Joke and many consider his Joker as the best (myself included)

They flat out said Bolland did inspire it, but it wasn't meant to ape his style.
The Hair, Chin, shape of the smile, shape of his face, the eyes...etc...All seem to be Bolland's Joker. It's almost like SS took Boland's art and made it realistic as opposed to comic style.

This is about as perfect a melding of influence and art as I have seen. Bolland's work influenced the sculptor, but he also took the liberty of making it his own. Whenever anyone says I want A Jim Lee sculpt this is the kind of pairing of sensibilities I hope to see. Now, it was still not meant for my collection, but I recognize the skill that went into it.

I personally prefer the ones that were done by Spazzy.
His are a recreation of the original Ex Joker Mallet that was suppose to be the Joker PFs Exclusive.
Edit throw in his hat and Jason Todd crow bar and Spazzy is pure gold!!!
