Who is Alpha?! That's the million dollar question. And it looks like Echo isn't such "an empty shell." I love this show!!!

Still not in love with the show yet, but tonight's episode was a definite improvement over the premiere.

This episode was awesome. I loved every minute of it. Well, I could have done without them in bed together cause it brings me back to the...they make her a wh*** and that just isn't right to me. Not that any of it is right, but you know...sore spot.

And holy hell Eliza in that mini skirt in the next episode. Yowsa!

But I really loved the end. The way Echo looked at that jerk when he was talking bad about her. I loved how she was clicking.

I have a question tho...Do you think that when Echo is imprinted and she sleeps with the guys she does... that she has a choice in that at all? Or that the imprint sort of makes her? Like when they imprint her, do they do it to make sure she will satisfy the 'customer' ??? I'm just curious if you think the imprint they put in her really has a choice or not. Makes sense?

I think that she has a choice, like obviously she wouldn't sleep with him after he tried to kill her, but I think her imprinted personality has a desire to love the client.

So do they, at dollhouse, make sure the client knows they can't promise them that pleasure? I just wonder why they'd pay so much for these girls if there is no guarantee of intimacy. I mean, granted, they are getting a totally different kind of girl. They get what they want whether it's a girl who knows how to ride, or one who can climb. But what, they don't want sex with them? I find it hard to believe they'd pay this much money and not be guaranteed sex. And if that's the case, in a way, they don't have a choice.
I'm just not sure which way to look at this. Hopefully someone can come by and explain it better.

I'd think that ok, so Caroline has no choice. We know that. That choice was wiped away long ago. But Echo, or whomever they imprint her as has a choice? Or do they imprint her with someone they know is going to 'go the distance?'

All very confusing to me.

Dave mentioned it earlier I think Joss is pushing the envelope here with the sexual theme, two episodes and both times she sleeps with the client, so I am thinking as part of the imprint she is a sure thing.

Episode was much better than the first but I'm still on the fence, I can see where they want to go somewhat and I know with tv shows and movies there needs to be some suspension of disbelief but I think after having mutliple incidents and a large number of clients someone is going to speak but thats probably part of the deeper storyline. Just the whole alpha thing bugs me a bit, reminds me of Bionic Woman when Starbuck was the first subject to go rogue.....

I still hope it does well enough to get a second season, Friday night is death night for tv.

Yea, she's a sure thing. They drove this point home with the flashback of her talking about her "feelings" for the fat guy. They'll probably go into how they do this, perhaps something like the imprint they do with the handler. Which brings up the question - does this imprint perhaps go both ways?

I was afraid that Fox's tinkering with the show would eliminate the mythology and go for self-contained episodes - but this ep was almost all mythology with some action thrown in. I have to say that I'm on board now - any trepidation I had from the pilot is gone - I think it's going to be awesome!

I really enjoyed tonight's episode too. It was a lot deeper than the pilot. It definitely gave the feeling that Joss has a big story to tell.

And I didn't like the "shoulder to the wheel" thing she did at the very end. :monkey3

WHAT?!?! I loved that part. It was a much better alternative to "flicking" the guy off or any other comment she could of made.

SHOULDER TO THE WHEEL, Batty! :rock :rock :rock

I think they imprint her where her like ideal lover is the client, like changing what she's attracted to. She has the choice not to, but there isn't any reason why she shouldn't. Forced would make it seem like she's doing it but isn't wanting to. For that personality imprint, she wants to.

I just hope they screen the clients for STD's first.

:lol

I don't know... It just seemed a bit corny to me. But it did show that her memory, once again, wasn't wiped clean. One thing's for sure, you won't ever catch me doing it. :lol
