I think it looks awesome, really interesting idea. I don't know anything about the book, but it looks like he can only go to the places he wants to by looking at a picture of it.

I hope Mace Windu is finally able to kick Anakin's butt. :lol

This is one of those movies that will either be really good, or just terrible.

Just saw a longer trailer before Rambo.
Looks promising.
Hayden needs to redeem himself as an actor, or actually prove that he is an actor after Episode 2 & 3.

Yeah, the white hair on Jackson looks really terrible... not sure who thought of that. I'm not terribly interested in this film, unless there's a real positive buzz it'll most likely be a rental.

Seen the trailer for this at the cinema and was pretty impressed with it, I'll probably go along and check it out when it's released.

I haven't read the book myself but I was reading an interview about the film and apparently alot of the aspects used in the original novel have been taken out or adjusted to better fit a big budget special effects movie and there's even a scene filmed in the Roman colosseum.

This could end up being the first big sci fi hit of 2008, although I agree Hayden does have alot to prove to SW fans as an actor:D

If Hayden and Samuel end up fighting each other in the end, I will just laugh my ass off. they should never be in another movie together after ep. III. when they do fight, I hope ian mcdiarmid comes in

Well, I just saw the movie last night and I must say that it was :monkey1:monkey1

Seems that Hayden can actually act in some movies and then the total opposite in other movies. This was one of the movies which he didn't act. Rachel Bilson :monkey1, the story in general :monkey1, likability of the main character :monkey1, action scenes were :maul. Overall, I would give it a :monkey1:monkey4

Saw it and liked it. Great popcorn flick and thought the acting wasn't any worse than what goes on in the majority of these kinds of films. If they make a sequel I'm there.

Kewl power, but the movie blew :monkey4.

Well, maybe it totally blow, but it is a forgettable movie.

:lecture:lecture:lecture:lecture

I mean, for what it was, I suppose it wasn't that horrible, but it could have been SOOOOOO much better. I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie, but if it's anything like that movie, I'll pass.

The most annoying thing about JUMPER is the dumb motivation behind The Palladins and why they hunt/kill Jumpers... it's because "no one but God should have that power".

Fine. So how come not one single character pointed out how hypocritical that is when Palladins themselves play "God" by deciding who lives and dies?

Well 2 of the jumpers we saw, were theives, so Mr. White Haired Sam Jackson did have a point.

You could argue that they are reduced to theives because they are constantly being hunter for no more reason that the paladins think they shouldn't exist.....

Well no, Hayden's character steals from the vault right after he discovers his powers. No Palladins help there.

Sure. But how does that justify KILLING them (including innocent children, who haven't done anything yet)... especially in the name iof God??

The motives of the Palladins are as backwards and warped as that of Al Qeda or any other wacko fundemantalist movement. And that could have been an interesting theme for the filmmakers to explore. Instead, they completely washed over and ignored it. Missed opportunity.

I thought the concept was good - but the execution pretty lame. Hayden wasn't great and Sam was a little over the top. I liked Jamie Bell's character more than the hero.

All in all it might have made for a decent one hour pilot rather than a stand alone 2 hour movie. I'd definitely watch it on TV, especially if Rachel Bilson was in it. I agree that the Paladins' motivation wasn't very good and needed some fleshing out. And if they've been hunting them for centuries - what did they do before that little electrical thingie was invented? Seems like they would have been hopelessly outmatched by the Jumpers.

I think the lack of explanation of the Paladin's story was a setup for the sequel. I bet they'll flesh it out in Jumpers 2 as long as this does decent enough in the box office.
