Another thing that sucks in dominion and fallen Kingdom is the absence of good guy deaths, there is no suspense when you know all the good guys are making it out of there. No undeserved deaths really in the whole of the new trilogy other than Zara and the paddock supervisor from JW.

JP had poor Jophrey, Ray Arnold, Muldoon and arguably Generro (he was a lawyer and left the kids but he had a toilet emergency!). TLW had so many but Eddie Carr stands out and Arjay (Roland's buddy had some weight to it) and unlucky b**tard in San Diego and the dog!

JP3 was the first to really be guilty of this, killing off the new boyfriend and the disposable mercenaries only (although i felt bad for Udesky) and even bringing Billy back to life. JP3 blitzed through its kill count in what felt like the first 30 mins then everybody was safe. I've grown to like JP3 more over the years because of Alan Grant, Isla Sorna and the great creature effects and because the World trilogy is such a downgrade overall.

That's a good point. Good guys deaths are a great way to show the audience the dinos are animals acting on instinct and no one is safe. When it's only the bad guys dying, like in JWFK and JWD, it takes some realism out of the movie. I believe there was a deleted scene in JWFK where the Indoraptor kills Iris while she's trying to protect Maisie. They really should've left that scene in the final cut just to switch it up from the usual suspects getting killed.

I felt bad for Udesky, too. He wasn't even a bad guy per se. He was just a guy hired to do a job. He even says it himself, he wasn't supposed to be there but someone called in sick :lol

I think Ajay's death was much sadder than most people realize. With Roland MIA, Ajay was sticking to his duty of leading the crew. When they take off into the long grass, despite him shouting at them not to, he goes after them not because it was poor writing, but because he was still fulfilling his duty and sticking with the crew. He very well could have just turned around and made his way back to the camp, reuniting with Roland and Ludlow and got off the island safely. But he stayed with the group. In my opinion, that was a very noble act on his part, and it ended up costing him his life.

Dominion had no stakes whatsoever. The first Jw atleast did. The indom killed good and bad guys. Nobody died in dominion except like bad guys and no name thugs. The giga in that movie was just an animal and acted like a regular animal. Which is fine but it was no villain. The whole movie was stupid anywat. Can’t believe they thought we’d wanna see bugs

JWD was laughable how there was never any suspense. You just knew everyone was going to make it out alive. Even when they were making their way around the overturned truck, with the Giga a few feet away just casually following them around it. Or Malcolm waving the flaming locust in its face. That whole sequence was soooo bad :lol

And it's too bad because the Giga was a great design. I thought it looked cool, its yellow eyes really stuck out, its roar and long growls were kind of creepy. Trevorrow even referred to it as "The Joker" because it just wants to watch the world burn. That was such an odd comment based on what we saw in the movie. Such a waste of an otherwise cool dinosaur.

I’m indifferent towards the design. It’s ok. I got the Hammond collection figure but I believe it’s the weakest of the jp dino villian designs. That’s just me though. I think they tried to hard to make him scary with that Mohawk of spikes

Bad guys have mohawks... Wez... Stripe... Clubber Lang...

This is a great point.

Also, fun fact in case it's not widely known - the unlucky b**tard eaten by the Rex in TLW San Diego is David Koepp, the screenwriter for JP 1, 2 and this latest one in the works...

I have the Hammond Collection Giga as well but haven't opened it yet. As much as I liked the design, I wasn't willing to pay full price for something that didn't have any memorable impact on the franchise. But then Toys"R"us ran a sale and it qualified, so I caved.

I know there's a Hammond Collection Allosaurus that recently released. I liked Battle at Big Rock, so that one will be tempting as well. But what I really want is a Hammond Collection Buck, Doe, and Spino :impatient:
