I haven't been bringing it up but my mom has been battling cancer for quite some time. Things were doing good and she was in remission but things got complicated a couple of weeks ago and her body started shutting down. Yesterday morning, I lost her.
Having been there when I lost my Dad, my uncle, my brother-in-law and now Mom, I can tell you that there is nothing worse than watching a family member, or anyone for that matter, fade from this life.
Anyway, not trying to get mushy here, been doing enough of that on my own, just wanted to post a heads up should I not get back to anyone on something.

I'm sorry for your loss! I lost my father from cancer. He passed at home with us. It's hard, but I'm glad he was with us till the end.

Big hugs to you!

Sorry to hear about your loss. Both my father and stepmother survived cancer. I can't imagine what it would be like to loose either one of them.

Same thing happened to me. My mom faught breast cancer from 1998-2006. This NOvember will be 2 years. I wish I could tell you it gets easier, but I still have a lot of regret; my mom died too young, diagnosed within a year of retiring. Dying sucks. Dying from cancer sucks ever worse. She's in a better place now, and you will appreciate even more those that are still here with you. My mom's passing brought me closer to my family.

Sorry to hear what you've just been through, ironman. Time heals the wound, and the memories just get better. This sort of thing puts everything else in perspective. You have my best wishes and my sympathy.

take care, as her son, her living DNA, you are now her memorial!

Like everyone else, I am truly sorry to hear this.

My ex-wife's mother (who I was close to) also passed from cancer back in 2001. She was only 46 and fought it for nearly 16 years. What an insidious disease.

My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
