As for hotels I look up Hotels in the Downtown San Diego Area.. Obviously the closer the better, they sell out fast, reserve now.. It doesnt get any closer than the San Diego Marina MArriot..

I'm going to try Orbitz or Travelocity in a few weeks. They only have the first week in July so far.

Yep. I've tried in years past and haven't been able to book ahead of the Travel Planners' booking dates. Just went into hotels.com, etc., as well as the actual hotel websites, and none are available (either too far in advance or they've been held back specifically for the Con booking folks).
