Marriot, Omni, Hyatt, and a few in the gaslamp district are very close to the convention center. Marriot and Omni being the two closest.
The Sheraton is well within walking distance (though there is a shuttle) as well (only 8 blocks). When I've stayed there I didn't find the walk to and from the convention to be that bad.
