I'd also apprectiate any info you could pass on since this will be my first trip to the Con.

If you want to pay more money you can book your room now. I wait until the day the hotels go up on Comic-con's website and book then. I like to save a little money.

Marriot, Omni, Hyatt, and a few in the gaslamp district are very close to the convention center. Marriot and Omni being the two closest.

The Sheraton is well within walking distance (though there is a shuttle) as well (only 8 blocks). When I've stayed there I didn't find the walk to and from the convention to be that bad.

I'm surprised he was able to book at all. They usually put ALL their rooms aside to be booked through travel planners, and that won't happen until February of next year.

I was surprised too.. Ive been trying once a week since last month.. Last night I booked it..

I sure liked staying at the Omni. It cost a little more, but it was worth it. Right across the street when you walked outside the main hall. I could be up to my room dropping stuff off and be back within just a few minutes. If I can get a room there again next year I won't hesitate.

He LOVES the Omni. He just couldn't get it this time. I'm thinking he's trying to steer folks away for the next one.

Oh, right. Yeah....Dave is correct. It sucked. Really was waaaay overpriced for what you got. Suggest a really nice place maybe on Coronado Island. I hear it's really scenic and away from all the hub-bub.

My room at the Omni smelled like sweaty gym shorts. Was it supposed to? And the staff was terrible. The cleaning lady stole all of my con exclusives. Then the valet crashed my car. Stay away from the Omni!!!

there's alot of motels by the trolley for wayyyy cheap. I do recommend sharing with another forum member just to save kee-sash (cash )
