Yes I know. They hated everyone. But like I said. Us kids at the time didn’t care. We all loved the bombastic action, the lightsabers and the fall of anakin. A huge percent of us millennials will say rots is the best Star Wars movie. Cause it just gave us everything we wanted.

Acting. The acting wasn’t good at the time and people got on her as star wars fans do. They hated everyone tho.

I'm still not convinced that the Rose Tico actress didn't blow that all out of proportion.

Yes, thousands (millions?) of people complained that her character sucked, but I doubt much of that was either directed at her or even sent to her. But her character DID suck. A lot. She probably mistook all the hate her character got as a personal attack.

As far as I know, Jake Lloyd really was harassed in person by people telling him directly that HE sucks, and that HE ruined Star Wars.

Nudie AI Rey is the only thing that gets passed around out of the ST. I doubt there will even be much of a popularity swing in 20 years when kids that grew up with it actually grow up. I just don't think they'll care enough to make anyone notice.

20 years from now they'll still be talking about the Joker (Ledger) though.

She has kept reforming, but fan lava's done the work. This despite a high-profile female corp exec being 100% unfire-able in the social climate of the past decade, especially one that has so openly pushed gender/sex/race messaging, not to mention one with deep personal connection to the iconic franchise creators. The idea she would be fired was always laughable.

But no new SW film in seven years (after a movie a year,) Indy losing $150-200m, and multiple SW series cancelled after one season is the fan voice equivalent of DOGE. And KK is now on the fifth re-draft of her e-mail.

I think thou , the dynamics have changed. The way people would fanboy for movies is long dead. Anime is now the new fanboy base.

I am afraid SW is becoming a relic of the old. Many younger kids made it an event because it was important to their parents...not really to them. It was an event moment , and they move on, Much like the MCU, it's had its moment , and it's much shorter time than the OT or even PT fanbase because there is SO MUCH content.

There is little time to focus on an property long term, cause the new thing is right around the corner to distract,

I think very soon , SW will fade into obscurity as a large fanbase , much like Roy Rogers and Howdy Duty,

Star Wars changed the game tho and before the ST everybody to it as this huge worldwide thing when the movies would hit. The hype around TPM was crazy. I’ve never seen three fast food restaurants advertise the same thing before
