Coat is in the house :banana

Amazing stuff Kato and thank you for delivering it so quickly in such circumstances

Guys.... no big deal on the weathering. Just get a pastel light brown or grayish (your preference) chalk and gently pass it on the edges and areas to match the actual picture. Use your fingers to take the excess off or to spread it a bit. Stays on really good and the great thing is that it's not permanent. You can take it off with a damp cloth if you want to go back to the clean look.

If you want it look as accurate and effective as Lance's I would say it is a big deal.

You can see how much effort he has put into getting it to that level. Not just simple pastelling.

Congrats Teddy! :duff

Thanks bud :duff

Yes I agree with you bud, I do not have the skills to do it myself so I am sending it off to Lance :)

From my collection thread:
Just need to add the gold chain and weathering now..
And repainted gloves and new shoes.. :lol

thanks buddy, yes it is a lot of work if you want it as close as possible to the actual jacket. I am sure people can do a great job with pastels, but for screen accuracy you need more than just pastels.

It's funny that you came to that conclusion when you haven't even seen good pictures from neither. And Shorty chickened out and just half assed his weathering (Sorry Hector, but you know it's true), so don't even consider that a good reference.
But I guess you're right. You DO have to have skills to do it. It is not just "simple pastelling", though. It did take me a good half hour to get it screen accurate and I'm still not done. I have now used 3 different tones to get it where I'm happy. And like any creative process, it takes a few days, different lighting, to finally consider it finished.

I came to that conclusion by comparing lances and shortys pics. Lance's pics are clear an I presumed shorty had done the pastel technique you had mentioned.

To me it was barely noticeable as compared to lance's, hence my comments.

Yeah, Hector barely touched it. He's too afraid to loose the clean look, even though he's got two sets. :lol I'll try to post pictures of mine tonight when I get back home.

Yup I'll admit, I half assed it. But that doesn't mean I'm not capable of doing it. I got mine to look like lances after a second go. Very easy. Probably one of the easiest things to do. But eventually dusted it off because it looks too thrasted for my taste. I'm just glad I'm not a sucker to send it to someone else for weathering. :lol

Looking over this thread always brings such a gigantic smile to my face.
Really, how amazing to think that every single one of these customs is a 1/6 scale piece. What an extraordinary breakthrough has been made in the scene.
Humbling to think so many wonderful and downright bulls@#*tedly talented artists can contribute to such works of art and expression. And to have each so creatively assembled by passionate owners to represent their own taste and style. No two are exactly alike.

Love it

:)
