It depends on the position of the crook of the elbow, & hand position as well. Toni's pic has the crook of the elbow almost facing directly at us, so the natural position for hands to take, when consciously putting the elbow crook in that position, would be palms facing us. You could face your palms towards your hips, to give a similar shape to Toni's "After" pic, but that feels awkward, & more like your posing for something. Also, a front on pic of a natural standing stance (elbow crook slightly turned inwards), would give a similar shape to that in Toni's "After" pic. But I'm simply going on the arm position shown in the pic
