The Van Helsing angry head sculpt is grown on me more.

It should. Its spot on for the specific scene.

The sculpt is spot on alright, but the cheap looking flat paint apps let it down. The teeth are way too white looking and the lips are too pink. It does look better under shelf lighting though.

KP really need to up the ante when it comes to the production paint, as they currently don't meet the price point.

Excellent!! I love Cushing's Holmes and have thought about doing the same as I have the BCS Abominable Bride duo. The Deerstalker in mine is plastic and doesn't fit the Van Helsing head. Also, your cap looks to be cloth and a lighter color than mine. Curious!
What head and what body/suit did you use for this?
Well Done!

Thank you. The Deerstalker is from the BCS Sherlock head sculpt that was given with the Door diorama.
I picked one up from KitbashCorner on Etsy. There's still a few left.

The Cushing head sculpt is the hatted version, with hat removed. Popping the heads sculpts into a mug of boiling water will help loosen and remove the hats.

The jacket, waist coat and pocket watch are from the PP TOYS Gangster suit set. The shirt, pants and shoes are from my parts box. I've forgotten what brand there from, but something similar can be easily sourced.

The body is a narrow shoulder KO.
Matrix, that is an excellent Cushing Holmes.

Also reminds a little of the Final Problem with Jeremy.
Thank you. Funny you should think that, as i was trying to echo Brett's look from The Final Problem.☺️

It's my all time favourite costume look for Mr Holmes.

Thanks Matrix! I checked out kitbash and the listing states hat is not removable. Since you removed after warming in water, it is a separate piece?
I would have thought that the hat on the Cushing sculpt is part of the head and not separate. Did you cut the hat off? Whatever you did, I'd love to know.
The clothing items are great to know too.
Cheers!

Most hatted head sculpts come with the hat as a separate piece which is held in place by glue.

You might have to heat-up the head sculpt more than a few times to loosen the glue. I guess it depends on how much glue was added inside the hat during production, so you might get lucky.

I got lucky with BCS Sherlock sculpt as the hat popped off pretty easy after a couple of dips in boiling water.

On the other hand the KP hat was a little more difficult to remove and needed a few more soaks before it eventually came loose.

I didn't want to damage the KP hat as it's a good match for an alternative look from The Hound of the Baskervilles.

Thank you for that Matrix! It makes a lot more sense that these are actually 2-piece. I'll get one of those Sherlock sculpts to use!
I have the BCS Abominable Bride duo because they've been the only Holmes?Watson pair available. I love what you did with the Peter Cushing Holmes. Now if someone would do a Jeremy Brett headsculpt..... I don't paint myself, so that would be an issue.
This is a great start!
Happy New Year and Cheers everyone!
