I suspect had they not picked such a relaxed, non-battle pose (espcially without the helmet), Leonidas would look a lot less...male stripper at SDCC. 
That being said, I think the big issue here is that paint. The torso 'shadowing' looks like a bad airbrushed van mural. Hopefully that won't be quite as obvious in the final production versions.

glad I got my order in this morning.
Although an ES of 300 would be EXTREMELY appropriate for a PF like this, I highly doubt it. Buuuuuuuuut, if the ES DOES happen to be 300, that would be entirely TOO cool!!!! For a few reasons, collectibility being the top one

i know it didnt sell out in minutes but this did not get the hype that other pieces got, a lot of people said they would pass. and yet it sold out within the day...

I passed on this. Don't like the pose, don't like the paint apps, and I'm not impressed with the non-helmeted head sculpt. Sideshow shot themselves in the foot with making the exclusive a helmeted version, as that's obviously the one to own. The regular version will be collecting dust in their warehouse.
Sadly, I agree that the reg version will collect dust.... How funny would it be though if they made the ES or the reg 300 and the exclusive 750?!?!

I doubt it too, NECA dropped the line pretty quick and this took a while for the EX to sell out. Maybe when the sequel comes out things might change, but doubtful.
