Kitbash: SS Han Solo ANH to a True Type body

Anyone out there have any advice on the best way to get a Buck-style head onto a True-Type body? My first-ever kitbash project has hit a snag.

Glue the head to a short TT neck connector. Done.

... or pad out the short connectors nob with tape so that the head is a nice tight fit but still removable.

It seems that hot glue might be the best bet for gluing these things together. Easier to remove later if needed (although I can't see why I'd want to). Any other suggestions?
