Excellent news. :banana

I have been looking forward to this being announced. Hopefully, it will come with a statue like the LOTR EE's did.

As far as extra scenes. Anything with Naomi Watts... :drool :love

Maybe this will pay off the incredibly insipid subplot of Hayes, Jimmy, and Heart of Darkness that just disappears in the movie.

"Jimmy, you gotta get off this boat, you gotta get yourself an education, you don't want to be on this boat forever, Jimmy."

Why didn't they tell us this sooner :cuss :thwak
I'm getting tired of buying the same movies over and over....

This happens so often to me that i decided to end collecting DVD's.
I bought so many films and after a while there was a extended version.
So i bought the extended to see the "whole" film and guess what, they bring out the directors cut!
If you like movies you get ripped of.

This is cool, I wanted to see some of the stuff they left out, rather dissappointed when there weren't any deleted scenes on the dvd. Maybe they'll also add a segment on the New York visual effects, since there wan't any attention payed to how they made an entire 3D version of 1933 New York.

I never buy DVDs straight away becasue for the re-releasing that goes on. If it's a big film, then there will be a Special Editon and depending on the filme, you can usual tell if there will be an Extended/Directors Cut. This film was one I could tell this would happen with.

I'm glad I waited for the Directors Cut of 'Kingdom of Heaven' as that's ment to be 100 x better... I still haven't bought it but can't wait.

I'll wait to hear reviews of this cut of KONG and then decide if I want to buy it.

A cool statue would be great!

PsychoCenobite :monkey5

It was a little slow in spots but I think PJ will fix that and the movie will flow how I thought it would when I saw it in the theater.

3 Hours of that monkey was bad enough, no way could I watch 4:15 of it.

Jackson just needs to admit, the original is still superior . . . . and shorter.

agreed... this movie needed to be shorter not longer.

~~and i also loathe buying multiple copies of movies. i can understand something for a 10th anniversary edition, but when it comes to Saw or Underworld where they just waited until the sequel comes out to release the new "special-unrated-super-director's-producer's/brother in law" cut it just ticks me off.

Hmmm... not too sure about this one.
I enjoyed Kong, but Jackson's overly melodramatic style was a bit too apparent.
Still, I haven't bought it, so I might just get this one.

Love Kong(especially the original) but I'm gonna wait and see on this. It does bring something a bit weird to mind, though. Have you noticed that, in any dino movie ever made, that when the dinos spot people, they immediately chase us, no matter what they were originally doing? In JP3 the T.Rex abandons a fresh kill to chase us! All I can say is that we must taste REAL good(are we dino-nip?)...PS
