The sculptor just followed the artist it was modeled after

JMO about this piece and not an attack on the artist nor an attack on Ink's comment. Mind you I have never seen these pieces in Hand.

But

I thought the rest of the sculpt was great and looked like Ed McGuinness art. However I don't recall the art ever looking like that.

I mean I can see what he was going for as far as the rips in the pecks go. But IMO he failed to capture it in this sculpt.

It always reminds me of the first Bowen Hulk. Both IMO look unfinished.

Now I said the Pecs and abs were pretty poor. However The back may be worse.



HOWEVER He nailed the Red Hulk Sculpt.
It all looks so perfect there. You just can't campare the two. It's like he did the Red Hulk first and put all his time and effort into that piece and when it came time to do the green hulk he was bored and just rushed it. I mean look at the photo of his back that I posted below. That does not look like the same sculpter worked on that.

But let me say again. I think his sculpt for the Red Hulk really shows his talent and if I cared about the Red Hulk character more I would track this piece down because It is IMO the best Rulk out there by far and one of the best Hulk related statues IMO.

I agree...and personally I prefer a more comic face/head, but that's personal preference..

This is an amzing sculpture and great pose. I just think the head is so important and makes or breaks any statue. It must be the hardest thing to get right..

The SS Hulk vs Spidey has got to be the best Hulk for me, such amazing detail and smooth finish... The SS comiquette is also incredible, but the red hulk head is better than the original..

Think I'm going to start a new thread about this...

I like this Hulk, might get him. I know this is for their Classic Avengers line, but to me it looks like a really modern version of Hulk actually. That's good though since there's already lots of Kirby Hulks and 80s Hulks, this is one of the few Hulks with a modern haircut and they nailed it. (This is the hair that the comiquette should have had.)

Though I think the neon green is too strong and vibrant, I prefer the green on the 3D render personally. Also hopefully we'll get some comparison pics with normal sized characters to get an idea of the overall size of the piece.

I totally agree.... The Hulk is the Hulk. This could be any of a 100 different comic book Hulks, heck the same could be said for the Maq. It isn't like when I look at this I go .. Oh there is Mark Ruffalo...

I love this statue! The muscles are amazing and a think the face is great too. I was debating whether or not to get the Koto Venom statue to go with my Koto Spider-man unleashed, as I’m not a big Venom fan and like the more traditional characters. After seeing this, I think I’ve found my companion piece.
