Does anyone here own this or the Mk 42 that came out with it? I was thinking of getting both of these to display together but wanted to know how the quality was. I'm sure it's worth a hundred bucks but wanted to ask?

This is my first koto piece and it looks great but feels light and plasticky , but mixed among other ss pieces he holds his own:hi5:

I always wondered if he wasn't originally in the movie and then got cut somewhere along the way. There is even a "War Machine" track on the IM3 soundtrack.

Glad to hear it looks cool in person. Does the figure somehow attach to the base, and could you use just the figure without the base (say if you used one of the new HT stands to hold it up in the air)?

This is an excellent War Machine statue. Great paint application and pose. The base rubbed some collectors the wrong way, but in person it really sells the flying illusion and richly detailed.

MY ONLY PROBLEM: this statue does not scale well with the 1:6 Fine Arts statues. It's simply too big. It even dwarfs the Iron Man Mark VII Avengers statue from Koto that I really wanted to display in tandem.

I also own it and while I really like the look of it, I'm not going to end up keeping it. I was planning on displaying it in my War Machine shelf but he's too tall once assembled so my grand vision is lost.

All in all though, I like it. It is plasticy feeling but from a distance you don't look at it and think plastic. The paint app is very good. To answer your question about if you can display him without the base, I suppose you could if you could prop him up somehow. There is a peg in the base that fits into a notch in his leg.

What I was really wondering was, could you remove the figure from the base, and use one of these to display it in a flying pose?

You could use the alternate base but it has a hook/bracket that comes out his knee that hooks into the fake metal tube , so that would have to go leaving a section that would need attention

Yeah, I think you could probably use that and get the desired effect. Keep in mind that you'd have to keep him turned at a certain angle so the piece coming out at his knee isn't an eye sore.

Ok makes sense, thank you. I just looked up a video review on Youtube....looks like there is a post on the base that goes into a hole on the side of the knee?

That's probably right. I probably have them mixed up. I haven't touched it since I assembled it so I likely have it switched.

I picked up the Mk 42 one in Ebay for $80.99 shipped today. If I like it, I will probably also pick up WM.

Did they make an Iron Patriot?

Ok, caved and also got the War Machine for $90 shipped. Excited to see these two in person. Thinking about figuring out a way to mount them to the wall so it looks like they are flying.

Will it be possible for you to take a pic of him with the Hot Toys Mark VII cofphoto. I was getting a deal on him for $136 shipped (overseas), but didn't as I read somewhere that he looks a bit oversized compared to HT Mks.
