Reynolds is an ok comedian, his acting basically sucks. He's made for TV. He should stay off the serious action roles. He was good in two guys and a pizza palor. Hope he gets another romance comedy instead of this. Deadpool will suck to.

I think that would be an awesome pick for a reboot of the franchise.
It being an actual Scottish actor isn't that big a deal to me, but getting someone I could take seriously as a McLeod is. That ain't Ryan Reynolds. I agree that he seems a TV-level talent. He thinks he's funnier than he actually is, and he doesn't have much real charisma IMO.
But McGregor would be fine in such a role, as could many others.
