I believe a big part of this is that porn stars are beautiful enough to pay to get them to have sex on camera, and most non porn stars aren't. Beautiful people tend to have higher self esteem to begin with.
If they didn't use a group of non porn stars that were as beautiful as the porn stars are, then this study is flawed. I think what the study is really saying is that if a woman is beautiful enough to be a porn star that she will have a higher self esteem than women who no one wants to pay to have sex with on camera, especially with them.
