Hi! i have some questions.

I recently bought a LED strip 5630 warm white.
I tested it by setting-up a 2 meters strip and using a transformer (12V, 1amp)
It looked great but after 5 minutes when i touched the strip, it's heating up.
is this normal?
Or do i use a transformer with a higher amp or watts?

Thank you very much!

You're using high power LEDs with a really high brightness. They along with the resistors on the strip, are likely going to get quite warm. If the 2m was pulling too much power, then the transformer would get very hot. You're probably still OK with 1Amp. But you should check the power consumption per foot/meter before you decide how you will wire everything up.

but does the heat coming from the LED strip will have a negative effect on the statues? I only light them up .5-2hrs a day.

Doubtful. It's probably very minor, not very radiant. You can feel it when you put your fingers on the LEDs but you shouldn't be able to feel anything from a few inches away.

But just keep in mind that you don't need to use very many LEDs because those will produce a lot of light. Always keep in mind the amount of power being consumed. You can also plan for positioning f the LEDs to maximize the shadow details to create a more visually interesting display.
