I heard Sideshow say they will not repeat exclusives. Thus, no future LOTR figure will have an "exclusive" Lothlorien cloak.

Oops!!

I wonder if a few people out there will be finding ways to pick up eight Legolas Exclusives, so they can put exclusive non-repeatable Lothlorien cloaks on the rest of the Fellowship as well.

Looks like Pippin may not have an Elven brooch to drop...

I too find it strange that a Lothlorien cloak is the exclusive. They said they try to find exclusives that won't appear later on with other characters. The arrow hand fits well as an exclusive, but not the cloak. I'm also thinking that the arrow is non removable from the hand.

I'm not a LOTR aficionado so I don't recall if Legolas loses the cloak at any point in time in the movies. If he doesn't wear the cloak when he's at helms deep or with the armored costume in the Return of the King, then it makes some sense that Sideshow won't be repeating this character in the same costume so this one will be the only Legolas with the Lothlorien cloak.
But the cloak has to make an appearance with the other characters.

Hi, Wor-Gar! Why didn't you join us in the SS chat during Toy Fair?:)

I did but I couldn't get a word in edgewise. I'm not really a well-known chatter...yet.

But I did think Sideshow was making the LOTR 12" in their "first" appearance wardrobe -- i.e. Strider, and Legolas with the Mirkwood bow and quiver. I guess the cloak is just a way to make him more appealing; he'd be pretty plain without it. Plus, I mean, he's an elf.

I hope not!

The cloaks were all different sizes, so I think they'd be considered separate items - since they were. If they made an Elven cloak for Frodo it'd necessarily be different than Legolas' or Gimli's or whomever.

The cloak just can't be EXACTLY the same. The "Lothlorien cloak" isn't the exclusive, just THIS cloak. Frodo, Sam, Gimli, Merry, Pippen, Boromir, and even Aragron can come with at Lothlorien cloak, but it just can't be EXACTLY like Legolas'. Besides, Arargorn, Legolas, and Gimli's Lothlorien cloaks aren't that visable like the hobbits. The Hobbits' Lothlorien cloaks will likely be standards, whereas Boromir's could be an exclusive as could Gimli and another Aragorn. I guess they could have Gandalf's exclusive be a Lothlorien cloak for Aragorn?

Good points. I hope Sideshow sees it that way.

Personally, at this point, I only want the 3 Hunters and Frodo and Gandalf. That's enough Fellowship for my shelf space. So the whole elven cloak issue really isn't a problem for me. I'll always make room for bad guys though.

Strider not coming with the elven cloak is appropriate as it is a pre-Lothlorien version of the character, Strider as seen in Bree. I'm sure a TTT Helm's Deep Aragorn will come with the Lothlorien cloak & knife, but I seriously doubt we'll get an accurate Fellowship Aragorn as the only differences between him and Strider are the cloak and the elven knife. But the Legolas cloak makes no sense. Either he's pre-Lothlorien Mirkwood Legolas, or he's post Lothlorien Fellowship Legolas w/ new peacock quiver, new bow and of course the cloak. I guess this figure depicts the 2 minutes after they give him the cloak but before he gets the bow & quiver? Basically this means we will never get an accurate Fellowship version of Legolas :(

That is why the cloak is the exclusive. It was hardly in the movie like this figure. Basically this is a pre-Lothlorien Legolas with a bounus cloak and hand. I can't believe you guys are now complaining that the exclusives aren't film accurate. They are a free extra. If you don't like them, don't get them.

Really?

I've read far geekier things on these boards nit picking and discussing SS's production choices.

Not trying to be nit-pickey at all, just trying to wrap my head around the exclusive cloak thing, as to how Legolas and Aragorn (thus far) are depicted. Aragorn is perfect, and I will need to fashion a miniature Prancing Pony for him to sit and smoke his pipe in, and Legolas is picture perfect too... I am just confused about some of the time line stuff.

That and the coolest things in the films for me are Boromir's Horn, and the armbraces that Aragorn nicked off his dead buddy. Man, I would love to own a set of those armbraces that are people sized!

I have a pair custom made, they are cool to wear. I need to snap a pic and make ya jealous.
