I had hopes, but it's just typical Cop drama schlock.

It piqued my interest at first, but there's just no point in trying to copy what Mel Gibson and Danny Glover had. I wish these studios would stop trying to get rating from shows that are reboots of good films. Fox had a really good buddy-cop show with Almost Human and they cancelled it. This doesn't look near as good so it'll probably be on for 5 seasons.

The banter and chemistry between those two was excellent, and is still the only buddy cop work that I truly loved. And it had all rock solid sequels.

Absolutely. That's what drives me nuts about them making this show. They think slapping "Lethal Weapon" on it guarantees and audience. Meanwhile, all I'm doing is comparing the show actors to the movie actors and deciding they're nowhere near as good. So, why bother with the show when I can watch some good movies?

its like, its almost like the reason we love those movies was because of the chemistry and interaction between the actors and not just because of the cop drama crap....
so somehow studios get the opposite message and they think people just like the cop stuff..... mmmm, weird.

Besides the BEST Lethal Weapon project besides the movies has already been made.

Yeah, that's like one of the biggest cornerstones of the series. Did they use it beyond LW2 though? I can't remember off hand.

Also no Clapton guitar riff, fail.

I watched the premiere just now. Honestly, I didn't hate it. There's things that I didn't care for like the orange glowing filter on ****ing everything, and Wayans being too silly for Murtaugh... but I'll stick with the show for now.

No saxophone or Clapton guitar riff sucks.

Same. I still feel highly sceptical of what merit there is in making a TV show out of Lethal Weapon considering the glut of cop shows there already are and have been but I'll watch more of it out of curiosity.

Now, did I miss something, what exactly was Riggs' plan to rescue that child again? Seemed like Roger's intervention was the only way Riggs and the kid got out of that situation alive and yet Riggs had handcuffed Roger inside his trailer. What if Roger decided not to try freeing himself and just waited there? What if Roger couldn't free himself? What if Roger did free himself but couldn't get there on time? What if Roger made his dramatic entrance but got killed in the process? Seems like they want to show that Riggs is nuts like in the movies but when a child's life is at stake you'd think he'd temporarily shelve his suicidal inclination and come up with a plan that didn't rely on sheer luck

I watched half the premiere and turned it off. Wayans just does not take it seriously, and Riggs is a modern douche. He walks into a hostage situation to deliver pizzas and disarms and kills three bad guys with machine guns...I'll stick with Lethal 1 thanks.
