How much interaction do you have with your factory in the Orient? As someone who has dealt with Chinese factories, it seems essential to have someone on the ground pretty much all the time otherwise they go off and do their own thing. I've heard of this happening to numerous toy companies - Hasbro is one example, another is Character Options who do the British Doctor Who line. On the other hand, it's been widely speculated that Hot Toys get such good results because they are so close to their factory, and speak the same language.

Does anyone from Sideshow actually visit the factory on a regular basis (no less than monthly), stand by the production line checking the product, and interact with the managers and workers there, and if so, are they tough enough to push through changes and demand improvements? Or do you guys only communicate by email and post with the silver-tongued factory owner?

Who knows, maybe Sideshow asked years ago for them to remove the doll dot, but the foreman's nephew does those, and no way will he be out of a job.

There's been a good deal of fan backlash for the final paint applications on the JP diorama production piece. With Dinosauria we've heard in interviews that Sideshow artisans are putting their "heart and soul" into crafting these pieces and the coloration has been stressed on several occasions. With these having the "Sideshow Originals" stamp do we have a better guarantee that the production pieces will have paint applications closer to what we're seeing (and which appear magnificent) in the prototypes?

Why did the grey styrofoam get replaced with the white styrofoam?

I found that the grey was not as messy and seemed a bit more durable.

So the questions haven't been as repetitive, but let's really get into it - what you do you want to know.

Does Sideshow make all the decisions on what figures/characters are released by their own company or does the licensor really have control or a "final" say in which figures they can or should offer?

Is it really a requirement in obtaining a license to do certain characters upfront?

Why a red Cobra Commander? Why not a color more associated with the character like black?
