Brunette hair is cool, but mine is kind of like, a sandy dark blonde mousy brown and I know that's a really weird description but trust me, it's not very pretty.

You and I both know that the reason I complaned is not because of photoshoping in general. I complained because certain photoshops were not responsible. So I am the perfect one to call for appropriate photoshops. I feel that I bear a large portion of the negative feelings associated with this thread, and I have been trying my darndest to make up for that. Take this post for example:

I don't want to get into a debate about semantics, but when you said "Mis-use people's photograph's", and then finished the sentence with "not everyone wants to be photoshoped" it really sounds like the "misuse" is referring to photoshoping in general. Especially when the next sentence is suggesting a different 'Want to be Photo-Shopped' thread.

If that's not what you meant, than I'm truly glad!




If anyone wonders why I was unhappy with the photoshop of me in particular. Think about it.

What kind of photoshops have we seen in here?
  • Complimentary photoshops, like the one of Cloud as Slave Leia.
  • Silly photoshops like Irish Jedi as a Leprechaun.
  • Purely awesome photoshops like the one of the freaks dancing at the Club with Darklord Dave as the DJ. Everyone loved that!!!
  • Photoshops that poke fun.
The most extreme 'poking' fun one I can think of is the one with Bamboota giving a lap-dance to Nicholas Cage. Everyone knows that Bam hates Cage, and that's why it's funny. The last person she would do that to would be Cage. No one would look at that gif and think "yeah I bet she did that.' So even though it was a teasing photoshop, I think it was in the bounds of "appropriate.'


Now I am going to get personal. Not sure if everyone here knows this whole story so I will provide a brief synopsis:

A certain female member posted a picture here that was both beautiful and artistic. It was only of her face. In reply to the pic I said: "Beautiful. Instantly saved to hard drive." Those are the words that I regret posting on this site more than any others...

A number of members commented my post was "creepy." And I get why they would say that. It wasn't long before a photoshop popped up of me petting my pet rabbit, except the rabbit was replaced by the female members picture, and I was surrounded by used kleenexes and hand lotion. So the joke is that 'Maglor saved the pic to his hard drive so he could wank to it.' Okay, that's a funny joke but the problem is that many members ran with that as being plausible, saying things like 'sadly, that's probably about right'. The internet is filled with people who would do just that. [Although they probably wouldn't announce that they saved the picture to their hard drive and they wouldn't use a picture that was only a face.] The fact that that was never my intent doesn't matter because, you all don't know me. For all you knew, maybe I am one of those creeps. Therefore the joke was to close to being plausible to be appropriately funny.

While at least I didn't think it was funny :lol and I made the mistake of expressing my displeasure. Rather than the comments stopping, the photoshop was upgraded to a gif that included a picture of my face with semen photoshoped all over it. Very tasteful and responsible indeed... -__-


When I talk about "common sense self censuring", I would like to think that the difference between the kinds of photoshops I listed above and the kind of photoshop I just described would be self evident...

But, seriously..i don't think you are creepy Mag, who cares if you saved pics off here(aren't you married though?,still not my business), big deal..the person posting pics of themselves should be well aware that other users could save their pics, and really should have no problem with it.

Who gives a ____ right?, i am sure people were just jerking with you though.

Creepy is much more interesting then common.

Oh and also, :lecture one thing I've learned the hard way here at this site is that nobody likes a drama queen. That was pretty much why I stopped posting, because my life was getting way too dramatic.
