My son earned his first black belt, took almost 5 years but it was worth all the hard work he put into it.

Next stop a Sith Warrior in a SW movie lol

Hey bud - congrats to your son!! Props to all his hard work! Is that Myung Kim's dojo in Sherman Oaks? I drive by there almost every day!

I tested last night as well at my Karate dojo and passed, but I aint no black belt yet haha

It is not Sherman Oaks but close, it's in NY lol.

Believe me I wish it was Sherman Oaks.

One day we will move to California.
That's brilliant Jye, what age did you start him?
I need to do something with my 7 year old, if I don't he's gonna turn out like me.
:lol

Wife and I feel it was one of our best decisions we made for him.

The physical benefits were a given but along with them came the psychological ones.

It works as great supplement to our core teachings from home.

His confidence, discipline, focus and group participation have reached higher levels than what would've been possible just with mom and dad especially since he has no sibblings.

He now reads in class with shoulders up while making eye contact and with a clear verbal tone.

The language skills also come in handy but mom and dad already speak multiple languages as it is so he was already used to that.

We also limit his videogame time to just Fri-Sat-Sun, the rest of the time is for homework and meditation.

I'm sure he will branch out into other martial art forms as well as other fields as he grows, confidence takes people far.

The best $200 a month we spend, great investment in our most valuable collectible lol.

Now we just need to get him into a Star Wars movie and my life will be complete, maybe the IG-88 origin story lol.

Ahh gotcha! I had no idea Myung Kim had other dojos

Sherman Oaks is a really nice city, but man California is brutally expensive in so many ways. I'd actually like to gtfo if I could, take my wife and daughter somewhere nice and remote lol

Maybe you should take it up, jye.

:monkey3

Martial arts?

I did until I broke my back. :cuss

Now my life is just small victories under a mountain of misery lol.
