I'm not saying he was on the same level as Kyle Reese, but if you've seen the deleted scenes on the Blu-Ray you'd know there were multiple scene in the Police Station where he showed his belief in Reese and his story... On his death bed he hands Reese the revolver he hands to Sarah before they spend the night in the sew entrance! And Tells him to make sure Sarah survives!

I'd love to see a director's cut of the Original T1 film with these scene involving Lieutenant Ed Traxler. He always appeared to be a bit dopey to me in the film, but after seeing these scenes, I feel sorry for his character being downgrade to a lazy looking Lieutenant...

What do you guys think?

This was a recent topic in the Alien, Predator and Terminator sticky thread. I like Traxler and whoever Lance Henrikson played - they're a good pair of side characters.

The only thing is - why would Traxler believe Reese's story? Its not like he witnesses the Terminator firsthand, at least not until he gets killed. So its probably better that the film portrays him as 'very interested' in Reese's story without necessarily suggesting that he believes it.

Lance Henrikson. One of two men in the world to be killed by an Alien, a Predator, and a Terminator. The other being Bill Paxton. Yey.

How did Paxton die? He just was thrown into a wall. The T-800 didn't kill him.

Now if he ripped his guts out like that one thug, then yeah he'd be a goner.

He did die. He was hurled into a metal gate with enough strength to break his spine.

Nah. If that were the case then all the Pescadero personnel would be dead. Head smashed into a wall, thrown through glass, face and head pushed back etc.

How about the cop that gets out of his car in the garage? His head hits that column pretty ____ing hard, hahahaha.

Well....think of it like this, T1 uses all of his strength to hurl him into the gate....and T2 only uses a small percentage of his strength.

Doesn't look like it was that hard of a throw. Kind of like a little shove. Maybe disabled but certainly not dead. I think Paxton was fine. :dunno

EDIT:

In fact, just watched the scene again. The T-800 looks like he flicks the punk he eventually steals his clothes from in the nose :lol. Grabs Paxton's face and throws him towards the bars. The way he hits doesn't look damaging at all.

How about T2 in the bar? He throws that one biker out through the window onto the car and you can see him moving around in pain, not dead.

Why are you depriving Bill Paxton of one of the greatest feats a human being could possibly have?

Just doesn't look like he dies. Now I could see if I said, "Ohhhh, come on, Hudson doesn't die in Aliens. They pull him down with them and have a great time after a few beers. He has a really great time before the place blows up" No, it's ambiguous if he dies or not in The Terminator. If you watch it it doesn't look life threatening at all. If we assume Paxton dies does that mean the punk that's scared ____less that gives the Terminator his clothes dies too?

Does everyone the Terminator touches die?

You're doing it again. Bill Paxton does not approve.

Actually yeah, other than that one case of extreme violence where he punched though Brian Thompsons stomach and ripped out his heart the T1 T-800 was actually less forceful than the T2 T-800. Next time someone accuses the T2 of being a pansy we should remind them of that.

Remind people of what? That the T1 Terminator kills people with less force than it takes T2 Arnold to injure them? That makes the second terminator even more of a pansy.
