I love it, but I could never spend that much on a collectible especially
the way the aussie dollar is at the moment.
Should have been posed with the tail curled up between its legs.

oh, that's a shame...

some of the other props on there are pretty nice, though.

Actually that's the pose that Giger has the original in his museum.

And hollywood-collectibles is a start up collectibles company - I haven't heard any complaints and they have shipped product such as the Fifth Element gun. I'd guess they're pretty safe.

Wow, that is rather expensive. For my taste, I would prefer to spend five gee's on something right out of the film, something with a pedigree. Does anyone know what the real costume went for at auction a few years ago? I'm sure it was way more than this, but still. The pose does leave something to be desired as well, as it seems like the figure is posed in the manner I have seen in so many images of Giger working on the costume without the actor inside. You know, in his studio, where the Alien is standing erect and Giger is toiling away at the details. That seems to be the look that Hollywood Collectibles captured. I wonder how many will be produced at that price point too?

Even though the Cinamaquette looks like he's tap dancing with "jazz hands?" I do like both of these pieces, but I feel like the Alien was never meant to be seen quite so clearly. He/She/It loses some of it's appeal and horror. This may be why I prefer the original film over all of the others. Although, it is nice to have a piece like either one of these to see the craftsmanship and design work which was poured into the original design of the creature!

:horror

i don't see the pose of this thing as much of a problem as it doesn't look like the movie.
looks like a big kenner figure.
