I thought it might be neat to use back-lighting in the display for a little while. Here are some pics; what do you guys think?

Thanks Israel, I can't wait for an Ikea to open up down here so I can get some nice shelves and display cases for cheap! I have a lot of my pieces in boxes because I lack the right things to display them.

looks great.... since your shooting witha tri pod and if you wanna cut down grain.... turn the ISO level down and you get black instead of grain.. also crank the Apeture up to 12. it will take a mintune for the shutter to shoot but you'll hjave some nice pics!!! (not that there wicked already! and if you have those settings of course)

:rotfl
I laugh because that sounded like Greek to me. I have an older camera and I still don't know how to do much with it. :lol What does ISO stand for and how do I turn it down? I actually didn't shoot these photos with a tri pod...get ready for the best display of non-knowledge...I used the setting that has a man that looks like he is running. :lol

Should one use ISO 200 and 800 if it's dark? I always mix up the different values

What's the lighting source Rory?

I not only lack the displays, but the space as well. I can't wait to move into my own place. :(

Christmas lights. :lol

I have to be crafty sometimes. They look amazing at night though. I hide them behind the shelf so that you don't see the the bulb, just the glow.

Genius man, I love it! :clap

So you can say your display, "lights up like F'n Christmas?" :D ;)

the lower the ISO level the better... yes im photgraphy NERD!... hahaha.. im gonna shoot and review my whole collection when my basement is done.

If you can do ISO 100 that is perfect.. but make sure your apeture is like 12.0 not 4.0... this way your pics come out sharp, also if you dont have a tripod you could try stacking items on each other then resting the camera on top of it. then press the shoot button..

camera talk! sweeeeeet! :D

i can't stress enough about tripod usage. i definitely try to use one to get the best image quality possible. unless you're shooting at a high ISO then there's a greater chance of camera blur from user shakiness. i also use a remote switch and set my camera to MLU (Mirror Lock Up) and timer delay.

i set my camera's aperture to a higher number depending on the lens if i want to bring in more detail all around. with metering mode i usually center focus (center weighted average). i think that's how i discovered sensor dust! lol. i was finally brave enough to clean that annoying dust using the swab method.

sorry for being off topic. :) cool effects Rory!

yeah, f22 is where i saw those dust bunnies! i was able to blow some away with those giottos rocket blasters but using the swab method worked best. here's the product i used.
