I'd actually recommend paper towel, if you can't find thin enough leather.

I line it with tape, paint it and treat it with some floor polish and mod podge...it can do the trick pretty nicely.

It's cut content that has been restored via mods on PC, there's a lot of mods that restore a lot of cut content from the game actually, my favorite is the one that restores John Marston's cut design.
