I don't think there is any 'better stuff'. I think the PF is much better than the actual character. I'm having the same struggle.

I have decided to add this guy to my official 2015 wishlist. Doesn't mean I'll get him, but he's a serious contender. Gonna wait for pics and then, if he gets as much positive feedback as the Hulk PFs, I'll try to snag him.

I agree. I think for Lobo this is going to be it.
Yeah, but what a grand sculpt if he's one and done with SSC. This reminds me a lot of the Skaar PF. That's just a phenomenal PF and we won't likely see another PF of that character again. I think the same thing is going to happen with Lobo.

I can't imagine another Lobo statue that would top this one. It's a pretty perfect representation, especially with both HS options. As soon as I saw it he was a must-buy.
I'm actually struggling with this PO. I have Lobo and Dawg PO'd. I loved Lobo back in the day. I have all his one-shots and specials. I even have the entire L.E.G.I.O.N. run. However, he doesn't really fit in my collection. He's more of a stand alone piece for me and I'm trying to stay away from pieces like that but this piece looks so ridiculously good. My biggest problem is I also really want the 3 Arkham PFs from SSC. I don't have the space or $$$$ to pick up the Arkham PFs and Lobo so something will have to give. I'm straddling the fence and will have to make a decision sooner or later.

Arkham pfs won't be released till next year. Full pay Arkham pfs so you only got to pay the nrd this year.

As awesome as Lobo is, I agree that I don't see him being a repeat subject. And this looks like it's going to be a nice piece. I wouldn't fret if this were all I had. Lobo is just awesome. Still not sure how I feel about his New 52 makeover.
I have the money to order all of them. NRD isn't an issue. I'm just trying to be practical with my $$$ and space. I usually pick up no more than 3 to 4 PFs a year. It was easy to collect a few years ago. Back then my Bowen collection was just about complete and I was mainly focused on SSC 1/4 Marvel pieces. I was only PO'ing a few PFs a year. SSC is very hit and miss with their Marvel line so I was able to pass on quite a few pieces because they didn't impress me much. Life was simpler then. Now, SSC has picked up the DC license (and is killing it with AWESOME PFs) and XM has the Marvel license as well (received the phenomenal Mags statue and have Thanos on PO).
Navigating these waters means putting strict collecting rules in place for me. Even though I can afford most of the pieces I want (with the exception of XM merch...that's killer on my wallet), I have a budget I try to stick to so my spending stays within reason. Also, even if I loosen my wallet, I only have so much room to display my pieces. Space is always going to be an issue. If I buy something, it must be displayed. I'm not the kind of collector that buys statues and keeps them boxed up. I want to display my pieces. If I can box a piece up, then I can sell it.
I have Lobo and Dawg on PO. I'm just trying to convince myself to keep them. That's not hard to do whenever I see pics of them. I PO'd Darkseid and truly believe Lobo is not only a better looking piece but also provides more value for the $$$. I'm leaning hard towards just keeping him and finding room to display him by himself. I've sold off a few of my older pieces to make room and $$$ but the higher price point on the Arkham PFs has me thinking twice about picking up that line. I just see the Arkham Joker as over priced and can't even imagine what SSC is going to charge for an even larger Arkham Bats PF. I'm just not used to POing (or wanting) so many pieces in a relatively small window of time. Lots of incredible stuff to choose from already and SDCC hasn't even begun yet.
Oh well, I'll put a game plan together and figure it all out.
