This hobby is an investment not necessarily monetary for a lot of us. Its just that, a hobby.

You don't like the announcement, we get it, but instead of voicing your wish for a comic version ( that you've been clear you still would have whined about due to cost ) and moving on, you've hung around to bash this and SS over and over putting your immaturity on display. No use arguing about this. Whether you like it or not, this is coming out before a comic version. Hopefully they do the comic version soon.

That's a totally slanted opinion piece stated as fact. So because YOU feel movie PF's aren't needed then collectors like me who collect movie PF's should be out of luck? I personally don't give a rats ass about 1:6 dolls, but I'm not leading a campaign against them. I only own 3 comic PFs. Hulk, Rulk and Thing. All of my other PFs are movie/TV show characters. Why can't I have what I want while you get what you want? My God people are so damn "my way or the highway" on this forum.

I started my collection puchasing Hot Toys, and am now slowly moving into statues.

The problem is that as far as the movie Marvel/DC lines are, the only statue I found with any real likeness 'recently' is the GG Black Widow (imo).

The comic versions are great, no doubt, but sometimes I wish I never knew about Hot Toys and had started with the 1/4 statues. My assumption is that it is easier to cast a more accurate likeness in whatever material Hot Toys use then in polystone, otherwise SS have no excuses for their MCU movie line.

Well back on topic, can't wait for the Loki reveal. Wonder if it'll come with 2 head sculpts. One with and one without his helmet.

True, getting a good human likeness in polystone can be rare.

Other than TFA Capt. which I really like I only have Arnie as T2 & Dutch, both depict him pretty well.

I have the T1 Arnie, Keaton Batman, TOD Indy, Babydoll, Gandalf the Grey, Gollum, Hulk Maquette, War Machine Maquette, Alien Big Chap Maquette, and Neytiri LSF.

All of them are very well done movie pieces with good to excellent character/actor likenesses in my opinion.

Granted, some of the MCU pieces haven't been as stellar, but a lot of people who bought them do seem to like them and to be fair they were never my cup of tea to begin with....outside of Hulk.

I get what you're saying, there's some good ones and some stinkers (absolutely hated the original movie Thor).

With regards to the Hulk Maquette, I think it actually looks better than he did in the movie

What do you mean!! I bet if I waved $500 at Mark Newman to sculpt me 1/4 scale "Thor"-movie Loki on the throne of Asgard, Newman would drop everything and start building an armature immeeeeee-jutly!! "Wow, today is my lucky day!" Newman would shout. "I'm gonna be RIIIICH!"

Lol, no. $500 would buy you a good quality repaint on one of these pieces, MAYBE, if it were not really intricate. To have just a face repainted by anyone who knows what they are doing is probably going to start at about $150 - just for the face.

Good art is not cheap.

Agree with prior comments that the likeness is going to be everything on this one. Looking forward to reveal, but if likeness is not up to par I will definitely pass. Because you know they are going to want the earth moon and stars for this.

First of all SSC doesnt produce their statues stateside. So calling them fine art when everyone knows they come from an assembly line in China is laughable.

I had this punisher custom head shipped painted and sculpted from scratch -- it looks 10 times better than the factory, shipped from Chile by a talented artist for maybe 100$

Mine is a lot more limited than the other 1350
Pumped out id rather have that displayed because it actually arrived from the artist created from scratch

$500 for a piece of recasted plastic? Im sure I can find someone out of 6 billion people that could compete.

Really excited about this PF Loki has always been a character that so many of us were crying out for...although i'd say the majority of those cries were for the comic version as opposed to movie one Still, i'm remaining positive and the way i see it, Tom Hiddleston made an epic Loki and for me epitomized the classic look of what a real life Loki would look like...so even if Sideshow dont nail the likeness 100%, i say it would still make a pretty cool looking Loki statue to have in the collection and when you take into consideration how fantastic Sideshow have been in regards to adding mixed media elements to various movie characters such as Gandalf the Grey, Saruman, OG Red Skull, Cobra Commander, etc...then i think this could turn out pretty cool
