Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs

I didn't think about boiling the head, I just ripped it off. Man I should have thought of that.:thud: But I would be careful boiling the head the outfit is really delicate and I think it might melt. If it works let me know. Another board member asked me what paint I use if you want I can take pics of the paint and post what I did.

Well you would never know you ripped the head off in the pics so obviously you did a good repair job.

Funny thing is I did the same thing to a Yavin Luke on the buck body, tore the head clean off the body. Totally unuseable now.

Yeah just thinking about the plastic outfit may distort in hot water, I may have to use a hair dryer and do a slower more controlled "heat and pop".

If you have any of the WIP pics or a list of paints you used they will always come in handy for anyone else looking to tackle this.

I use Games Workshop Acrylics on my stuff.

I started on 4 LOM last night and this is what I have so far. I think I'm done with the the head, now just have to wait for the paint to cure on the body before I mess with it. Here are a few before and after pics.

Yea, I got lucky on this one. By the way did your cousin finish that custom clone trooper?

I just gave him a shout about it. He had painted up the armor but thats as far as he got. I told him to get his lazy a** in gear and get it finished.

He's a member here so I'll get him to post pics when he's done.

Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs

Did you pull zuckuss's head off to paint it or for another mod? I painted mine with it still on as it felt a bit dodgy, like I'd permanently kill him if I pulled any harder lol

Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs

Here are pic of the Snowtrooper MODs. I reshaped the eyes and made the hands smaller.

Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs

Nice mods Jason. The eyes look much better. I may have to give that a go. Good stuff.

The hands are a bit big, but I really dont have a problem with them. However, its nice to know there is alternative if I should change my mind. :)

Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs

What did you do to make the hands smaller?...cut the back shield thingy down & put them on another set of hands?

That's exactly what I did, I also replaced the rubber mask with soft vinyl.

Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs

Holy dammit! Nice work on the mask Lopie. I figured fabric would be better on these. Nice clean work.

Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs

Jason, nice work on this guy. I really like the vinyl you used on the mask. The hands, weathering on the weapon look great as well. Nice job as usual. :)

Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs

Had to double check the previous pics on the gun. For a moment I though I had missed something, lol.
...Nothing like a little extra paint to set off some details:clap

Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs

Great upgrades! Hands look a lot better.

Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs

Is that the same vinyl mask from the Hasbro Snowtrooper?

Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs

Unreal. Impressive custom work, Lopie. The mask and gloves are perfect.

Re: Lopie's MODs, Repaints, Repairs, and Customs
