Finally got around to taking some pics of my Gandalf Bust, Ringwraith, and Battle Troll Busts.

I know there are threads for the GG busts.

The Battle Troll bust is from the Gift Cards Chuck(gabberjawa) and Dusty gave away here after TORN. Thanks again to both Cuck and Dusty!!

Thanks for sharing the pics, Josh. I love Gandalf's face. I like that it's not only a bust but includes Gandalf's staff and the Ringwraith's sword.

How do these statues look next to the WETA busts? Do they compliment each other?

Thanks!! I'm very pleased with this line so far. GG has done a nice job with it.

As far as do they look nice together. Yeah, I suppose they do.

Congrats Josh! I've got Gandy as well and , despite the size difference, he fits in just fine with the SSW busts on my shelves.

I still prefer the SSW stuff. It just has something special about it but so far outside the Elrond bust the GG items have been quite nice.

If by special you mean crappy likeness, than I agree 100%


And I won't judge the Elrond until I have it in hand becuase the piece they had at TF looked a lot better than the original pics did.

Well, GG has had it's own fair share of crappy ones. A good deal of the SSW ones are pretty good. Plus they're all hand sculpted.

And I won't judge the Elrond until I have it in hand becuase the piece they had at TF looked a lot better than the original pics did.

It looked a "little" better but it still doesn't look as good as the one SSW did IMO. I'm looking forward to SDCC just to see how "off" or "on" it looks.

For the most part, I agree. But the likeness of the GG Strider bust is, well, head and shoulders above the SSW version. The sculpt is almost spot-on to Viggo, whereas the SSW bust doesn't really look like anyone. I suppose it still captures the "essence" of Strider, but so does the GG bust, and it actually looks like the actor.

Mine are on the same little table that has my LOTR PF's. Once a few more get released they will be going into a Detolf upstairs.

Those busts are all nice, but I prefer my old 1:6 figures. A couple of busts of the right characters wouldn't hurt though!

FWIW I placed the GG busts next to the 1:6 figures. They just look so dwarfed by their 1/4 scale SS/W counterparts.
