LotR Weta Diorama

Hey folks,

I was messing around with my Weta pieces tonight and decided to make a grouping on top of my entertainment center. I also have the Balrog and RWoS, but I didn't want to pull them out of the case just yet..no more room at the inn, lol.

I'm still searching for the Uruk-hai Scout swordsman to add to the mix as well.

I figured I'd share a shot so far and see what you guys thought. Feel free to suggest any rearranging you think would look better. At some point, I'm going to build a large base so the pieces can be set at different heights. Also try to picture a RWoS and Rog in there. Rog Will probably be mounted up really high and RWoS on one of the ends I think.

I was thinking the same thing as far as different heights! It will look great with Sauron in the back, up high, directing his minions!!

Here's a question... The Uruk-hai Scout swordsman...would you guys agree that that is basically Lurtz without the White Hand of Saruman? I was thinking of getting one and painting the hand on the face. The real Lurtz statue doesn't fit in with my arrangement of all action poses.

Here's a question... The Uruk-hai Scout swordsman...would you guys agree that that is basically Lurtz without the White Hand of Saruman? I was thinking of getting one and painting the hand on the face. The real Lurtz statue doesn't fit in with my arrangement of all action poses.

If I remember correctly (and unfortunately I cannot cite or point out where I read this), the Uruk Hai Scout Swordsman was intended to be Lurtz, but Weta decided to release him as a generic Uruk. They did not decide to release Hero orcs or Uruks until Ugluk in the Two Towers line. I may be wrong, though.

They did not decide to release Hero orcs or Uruks until Ugluk in the Two Towers line. I may be wrong, though.

The Ugluk statue actually was originally Lurtz, they reworked the shield into the arm holding the decapitated head and kept the scimitar.

The UHSS is perfect though, I wouldn't go about doing any mods - it is amongst my top 3 SSW pieces.

Weta got me into this game.. Awesome line up.. Wish I bought that Cave Troll when I saw it sitting there on sideshows site..

WK in True form was my 2nd buy as a statue collector..

I don't really think it looks like Lurtz.
