Was not entirely sure were to post this, Mods, please feel free to move it! Does anyone know the 'origin' of this Head Sculpt, It looks a little like the CRM Toys version, maybe repainted? But it looks amazing in my opinion and the best McDowell likeness!

That is the CRM Toys Clockwork Alex Delarge. I own one. It was a great likeness for it's time. It's a bit caricature like now but you can see McDowell in it for sure.

I really like it! How hard is the piece to find now? The expression is on the mark!

It's rare to find because it was made many years ago and sold only at a Japanese toy fair. They pop up on eBay still from time to time but usually sit there because the asking price usually starts at $600. I myself am selling the complete set but my asking price is also not for everyone. :lol

I agree with you on likeness. Rainmans is far superior in quality and realism but never liked the likeness at all. I don't see McDowell even if it is more realistic looking.

I see! :rotfl

Yeah! I personally do not own Rainman's but it does looking amazing like all of his pieces but it is one of his worst likenesses in my opinion unfortunately! I have Rocco's sculpt and the same with that, I do not see Malcolm McDowell in either sculpt but I really do with the CRM Toys version. With a repaint eg more detail and highly realistic painted style skin texture, I think it would be a really nice sculpt! Thanks again for the information!

It's a quite dated figure... came close to buying one for about $300 a couple years ago. But honestly, when looking at it from a collection stand point it just wasn't up to snuff quality-wise (but certainly was 10+ years ago when it was first released).

I think the both the Rainman and other Custom Alex offered a couple years ago are the way to go.

To be honest, I am only looking at the sculpt, with a re-paint! I would say this is the way to go!

Even in that department I still think it leaves a lot to be desired; no one has yet hit the perfect Alex; but this one is very caricaturish
compared to the other two.

A repaint isn't going to help it. It lacks fine details even with a repaint, it's a bit out scale as well and the sculpt isn't quality resin. Anyone who buys this should preserve it as a vintage collectable. The cartoonish likeness is dead on McDowell which is great. It doesn't mix well with the newer 1/6 but if you have a set of these they stand out on their own and are enjoyable.

Galatiboy is 100% right though, No one has sculpted the definitive Clockwork Alex. The search continues! :lol

This character would make for a great Iminime release IMO. Would also like to see Snyder-Man take a crack at the sculpt. Anyone have a link to Rocco's?

Really??! Best likeness? :dunno

Hilarious dont you think?

Maybe in its day it was nice, but that just looks like trash compared to Rainmans, sorry.

This is all the Alex I will ever need :)

Rainman's is unsurpassd in quality but he didn't capture Alex' likeness at all. One of the few sculpts that didn't reach the mark. This and Pee Wee were a miss.

I hope Iminime tackles Alex but their being closely watched by Warner Brothers.

One thing I'll give the CRM version is it captured that devilish smirk better than anybody, even if it's a bit cartoonish!
