Hi all,

I'm quite handy when it comes to modelling, customising etc but one thing I would really like to do is make my own custom 1/6 Batgirl figure.

My question is this - are there any good guides around that show some basic making of the stretchy suits (like the Sideshow Batman or Medicom Batman) that Batman/Batgirl would wear? Making a T-shirt for example is one thing, but making something that fits snug and hugs the figure is another and I am not sure where to start.

Any advice or direction would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Jack

Well, assuming you mean you mean a stretch suit akin to a comicbook-style figure, then you need to know how to draft a pattern and sew. I suggest looking at people's self-made fullsize costume tips and then analysing how to shrink that down. If you want to try sewing, wash-out glue or washout double-sided tape is invaluable.

Thanks for the advice Star Puffs. I spent the majority of yesterday learning how to make a pattern in full scale. Once I have that down, I'll adapt for 1/6. Thanks again.
