Wow. Reading is very important. That was one of Clark's high school teachers on Smallville when he discovered his heat vision. One look at her and he pops wood while setting the classroom on fire.

Re: The Man of Steel

With all the large (and likely Kryptonian) spaceships flying around in the trailer I wonder if Krypton is still intact.

One of the recent unfilmed projects did away with the distruction of Krypton in favor of there being a civil war. Jor-El sent Kal-El to earth out of fear for his safety. IIRC at the end of that script it turns out Luthor was not an enemy, but instead a Kryptonian bodyguard sent to look over Kal-El.

Bloody good job it never came to anything then.

Yeah. . .no thanks.

Re: The Man of Steel

Yeah I heard about that script though I haven't read it myself.

Whilst I think certain aspects of MoS will be a departure from comicbook canon, I don't think there will be anything quite as dramatic as Krypton surviving or Lex being a Kryptonian.

Re: The Man of Steel

I'm just pointing out all these spaceships came from somewhere, and Zod is a Kryptonian, so they're probably Kryptonian starships. Were they deployed away from Krypton when the planet blew up? Maybe.

Perhaps the other planets in the Kryptonian star system are still inhabited. (So why not send Kal-El there?)

Yeah I get what you're saying - it will be interesting to see what Zod's base of operations is, if any.

I've heard that in this story Zod is responsible for the destruction of Krypton. He has some kind of weapon of mass destruction that he deployed there. So Jor-El would have wanted to send Kal-El as far away from Krypton as he could, to keep him away from Zod. If that is true

Re: The Man of Steel

Im curious as to what the plot my be aswell. Those can't be all of Zods ships....?

They could come from the phantom zone. That's what happened in the comics "lost son".

Or it could be that the trailer is deceiving and the spaceships aren't Kryptonian, a bit like they did in Birthright, though that seems less likely.

Re: The Man of Steel

Saw this trailer in front of my IMAX Hobbit, and will say that on the big screen, the trailer felt way more epic to me than seeing it on You Tube

Day one viewing; Imax or bust
