Re: The Man of Steel

What he really needs is some nice gold colored pants.

He was new. Be nice.

But the Man of Steel thread in the Movies forum way down in the dank, dark, non-collectibles discussion area of the boards?

:lol

Re: The Man of Steel

Looks like a guy who works out that is wearing a bad Superman costume.

Doesn't look like SUPERMAN. :(

Who knows, I enjoyed "Immortals" (sue me, I like movies about Greek/Roman mythology)

Well, that finally makes one person.

Haaaaaa!!!!!! That's awesome!!! That movie was terrible!!! What was is you liked? The giant metal hats that the Gods wore like the fish on Poseidon's head? The lobster claw hat that Mickey Rourke wore? Or was it the giant mile high tidal wave that kills everyone except our Heros who hide behind a rock yet still manage to get covered in black motor oil? Just curious.

Yes. All that.

Re: The Man of Steel

I liked Immortals too. But I think "like" is a strong word.

The action was stylish. The gore was nice. The costumes were pretty. It was very nicely shot.

But everything else? No.

I can appreciate your opinions and respect them. When I went to see it I could not stop laughing because of how bad it was. I love mythology movies as well but we really haven't had that many in this genre in the last two decades. When I was a kid we had Sinbad, Jason and the Argonauts, the odyssey, and clash of the tiatans. This genre deserves more respect than the immortals.

I liked the new Clash of the Titans and its sequel. They weren't great movies but I still liked them. I also loved 300 and yes even Percy Jackson. We need more and better movies in the realm of mythology for sure.

Re: The Man of Steel

You don't have to respect it. I thought Wrath of the Titans was the most boring, useless thing made in a while. Visually ugly, poorly acted, dull mess.

At least Immortals was pretty,

Re: The Man of Steel

Henrys performance was what made Immortals stand out to me, i mean if it was Vin Diesal or some other action star it be just another flick but i though henry did a good job, mabey its because hes going to be the next superman i looked for the good but i felt the emotion he brought out, thats just me.

Re: The Man of Steel

I tried watching Wrath of the Titans. Then I realized Gemma Arterton wasn't in it, couldn't stay awake.

I could watch two hours of that girl doing the dishes. Especially if her shirt started to get wet.

Agreed. Cavil was the only good thing about that movie.

As far as pretty did you mean the 20 something Gods wearing what Cupid usually wears? Or did you mean the pretty dance that Aries did while slaying all those dudes to save out hero. I thought he was going to break out into swan lake for a minute there.

I can suspend my disbelief only so far when it comes to fantasy. When I see our mortal Heros doing things that make me shake my head I lose interest. At leader Perseus looked like he was kicking ***. Cahill must have hit 17 guys with the same staff and by the time he got to the last guy it was a toothpick.

Maybe we should agree to disagree on this. I'm just used to seeing the gods portrayed as a bit older to signify wisdom with maybe beards or facial hair. Maybe that's what threw me off. I guess gods can look however they want right? I'm mean they are gods. They just seemed a bit young to me.

Re: The Man of Steel

I'm sure much of the world looks like a men's hygiene commercial when seen through homoerotic tinted lenses.

Devil, I think it's the strangely shaped buttons at the bottom of the image that are throwing it off. You're using some broad strokes to criticize Nam, why not a good ole fashioned duel? Kidding of course, but lets all just bury the hatchet and enjoy the lolz.

That's cause it is.

Super-special Victims Unit! Faora falsely accuses Kal-El of date rape! :lol

I see similarities between his take on Superman and Nolan's on Batman. :monkey1

:rotfl It all comes back to Nolan. :rotfl I wonder how much of a fingerprint he'll leave on Supes. I honestly think he doesn't have a whole lot left in the tank for another superhero franchise, so maybe he'll really let Snyder do his thing.

Kevin Smith will always be a more entertaining speaker than a director for me. I don't quite think he has the talent to handle a major superhero movie.

You didn't think that was funny?
