Re: The Man of Steel

It was his signature hair style for years.

It's a silly concept though, whenever he is Superman he suddenly gets a single "S" shaped curl to help distinguish himself from Clark kent. :lol

Yeah, but the suit is a pretty big departure from his signature style as well, and that doesn't bother me nearly as much. :dunno

Let's be honest, Superman is a silly concept to begin with. :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

I haven't seen his signature glasses either, any media of him wearing them.

Since Clark looks exactly like Superman, no S curl or glasses to at least try to distinguish them.

Makes you wonder if he has a secret identity :dunno

Let's be honest, superheroes in general are a silly concept. It always amazes me when people are bothered by things like s curls, red underwear or yellow bat symbols.

Re: The Man of Steel

I'm probably in the minority but i'd love to see a movie Superman in a costume that isn't R&B for a change.

He's got a few to choose from the comics, and so far out of 6 movies there's been none featured but the R&B.

Costume changes are alway better if tied to the plot though

I think his definitive costume should always be red and blue.

It's like dressing Spider-man up in any costume ASIDE from red & blue or the black & white. It just isn't "right" and has never been an established look for the character.

If there's a mild costume change, I'm down with that, like his silver and black from the Death of Superman arc. But he should always retain the definitive red & blue look.

I'm glad they got rid of the red underwear. In today's modern times, the red underwear just doesn't look right. It was a superhero look of the past and does not look fashionable in today's world. I applaud DC for doing away with the underwear look in their New 52. With Supes AND Batman. :clap

And even Marvel has done away with it with some of their characters. Notice how Wolverine's traditional blue & yellow outfit has changed? It was several years ago when they did that. And even his X-Force outfit, which is a reflection of the traditional brown & yellow uniform he had, no longer sports the underwear.

Not that I have any interest in arguing this, or really even care to be honest, but the underwear is a fashion faux pas, whilst a skin tight blue jumpsuit and red cape (or any cape for that matter) are all good?

Oh i agree, their default costume should be their classic colours.

With that said it'd be nice to adapt some of the heroes other costumes for the big screen too.

For instance i'd love if in ASM2 Peter developped a suit specifically for battling Electro or Rhino, and then returned to his default colours. Like i said it'll allow for more of their costumes to be shown on film. Kinda like in IM2 with the suitcase armour.

Costume changes tied to the plot make best sense though. From what i know from the animated movie atleast Supes black and silver costume absorbed solar energy to help him in his recovery and strength.

You're right, obviously any superhero outfit is going to get a second look from ANYONE.

I just like the more modernized look of getting rid of the superhero underwear. The superhero underwear would get the double-take. :lol

Superman gets a pass because he is of alien origin. Obviously he's going to garner a look in any superhero outfit he's wearing. it's just explainable that his outfit is not of this world.

Re: The Man of Steel

In this day and age? No way. He'll be wearing colored contacts. :lol

I am loving the look of this suit so much. It's probably my favorite of every superhero that's been put on screen so far, with the exception of Raimi's Spiderman.

Re: The Man of Steel

Glad I saved that image before it got removed.

Zod and Jor-El statues. Zod looks great in the armor. Jor-El has an AK-47. Heh.
