That would have been nice! They seem to think that the adventure Indy is selling very well though. I really hope we get a map room diorama. Always loved that scene-my favorite in the movie. John Williams did an incredible crescendo to the moment of the beam showing the well of the souls.

I don't think the Indy 1 not selling out is a big deal because they made a boat load of them. I do think they should be concerned with the Indy 2 only selling, what was it again, 36 units?

That's one thing that's always bugged me about Sideshow. Showing a preview of a piece knowing full well that it's going to take a year to have it in hand. Sideshow really needs to re-evaluate their schedules and their previews. 6 months tops is what we should be waiting for a figure.

Doesn't bug me at all.

We're not dealing with a company that is filling Toys R Us with thousands of units...we're deaing with a group of artists who research the character, produce a prototype utilizing the best looking materials (which don't/can't always match what ends up being available for actual production) and then the long part....dealing with the license provider's approval. Then implementing any (and the always are) changes requested and going through the steps of actualy producing the figure.

Took a moment to read that paragraph, eh? Well...consider the time it actually takes to do all of that and a year doesn't seem so long after all, does it? Besides, I enjoy the anticipation and the fact the Sideshow often shares what's going on during that time.

t's all part of the hobby...

Doesn't bug me one bit either. It gives me time to set aside money for these things if need be.
What DOES bug me are the changes made from the prototypes to the final piece. They always say, "Prototype pending approval", but I just can't wrap my head around why they just don't get the approval first and then give us the final figure as the preview? It just makes so much sense to me.

But not surprising. Sideshow's been treating INDY like a red-headed stepchild for a while.

Seems like most companies have treated poor Indy like an abused foreign exchange student. :( Good or bad, Sideshow does get small props though for still putting out Indy items (for however long that lasts...). What I don't get is why LEGO, of all the companies who had/have the license, seem to be the only ones who actually "got it." :huh

I agree totally, LEGO "got it" from the beginning. Heck, they're the only ones besides SS that got the top crease in the hat right! Don't get me started though. We don't need another "press stud" debacle. ;)

By the way, because LEGO got it, they're still on the shelves at full price. Way to go, LEGO. Hasbro should invite LEGO to lunch and pick their brains.
