I would only want a second Alfred if I knew there was going to be a Bruce and Dick by Mars Toys.

Well, there is that. Hope they'll make them as I've run out of Batman and Robin figures to display an Alfred with. :lol

However, I had to pre-order this new set anyway - the option to use the complete extra suit, and the addition of the bowler hat.

It's a bit of a blind box situation as we don't know for sure whether the sculpt is a re-use or a new one. Seems certain though that the head and hat are one piece, as Alfred's hair would be too big for a separate hat to sit as snugly as it does on Riddler.

Head with hat*1

I’m glad Mars is offering this, so we can have even more Alfred drama. 🎭

There's quite a bit of drama on the two Facebook posts with people complaining about Mars selling this set separately.

It brings the total to $327 for two complete figures, plus the table, bust, telephone, glasses and the optional apron.

Missing an extra stand though, so I'll have to swap mine over. Put apron Alfred on a black oval stand to match the HT Batman and Robin figures, and use the Mars stand for bowler hat Alfred.

I have no idea how much time goes into sculpting and designing them, though I think the price that included the figure, bust, telephone and table was fair. I spent over $200 just for a custom bust and phone; I understand that it was a limited run, though just for reference…

I think it’s unfair to compare it to the Riddler set. That was an amazing deal, even back when it was offered for PO. I don’t how they could sustain that price point. We’ll keep getting more and better figures in this line if Mars does well.

People are comparing him negatively against Mars' Riddler, which was a really good value set.

Plus they're relegating Alfred to the status of a "B character". For me Alfred is as central to the series as Batman and Robin.

I just went into the collection room and put Alfred onto a black oval stand so he's on the same level as Hot Toys' Batman and Robin on their similar style stands, and he looks such a good figure.

Edit:

:gah:

The buckles on his braces are flipped up!

I can’t imagine they did much better than break even on that Riddler set in the end. We may as well have preordered it 20 years ago for as much as the world has changed

Those buckles are pesky. They resist laying completely flat.

In this shot, from S01E30 after feather dusting the Atomic Pile, the buckles aren't visible:

They're attached to the elastic on the figure so they can't be slid down out of sight.
