My main take away from the Battinson movie was that unless you really want to do something exceedingly earth shattering with the story, the villains will always be the most interesting part of the movie.

I only watched the movie cause I wanted to see The Penguin series when the initial reviews were so glowing. Seriously, any nondescript popular actor could play Batman (.. Clooney..) cause a standard Batman story is rarely about anything to do with Batman's character development: cause there ain't any. That's why he's always Batman.

The Riddler, on the other hand, was great, by the end of the movie I probably would've bought a toy if one was out with the actor's portrait included. But no interest in Battinson whatsoever.

I really think the only DC TV/Movie property to ever do anything akin to character development with Batman to make him more than one dimensional is the Justice League Unlimited series. His 'romance' with Wonder Woman, his turn against Superman and other heroes, being Bruce Wayne with the other heroes (and villains!). That series did so much more with Batman than any other series/movie I have seen. Even my partner said 'The last person I'd have thought would be my favourite in this series was Batman'.

I’m just tired of Mars going all-in on Reeves-verse Batman when they’ve teased so many more interesting things, which are now getting put on the back burner seemingly just because Mars liked the Penguin show.

No offense to those who are excited for 2022 stuff, but it’s wildly frustrating seeing what we want sidelined in favor of new stuff - especially when the new stuff is so visually uninteresting. Do we really need boring figures of Alfred, Gordon, and Catwoman from both Mars and JazzInc?

I’d rather Mars get to the ‘66 stuff before JazzInc so we don’t have to blow $500 each on the classic villains. If Mars doesn’t finish that lineup I’ll probably just sell off my Prank Villain and give up on the main four ‘66 villains.

I disagree. I think Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight Trilogy as a whole (but mostly Begins), gave Bruce/Batman an absolute tonne of character development. He certainly didn't come off as one-dimensional in any of those movies, as both Bruce and Batman.

They did his origin story the best, for sure, but yeah, after he became Batman, that was about it from my perspective. The Bale Batman's are still, easily, my favourite movie Batman movie series regardless.

I got booted from the group for making a new post asking about Penguin. :lol I’m going to assume the line is toast. All of Mars’ enthusiasm seems to have moved to Reevesverse Batman / Penguin stuff.
Some of those groups get real testy if you ask questions about when this or that is releasing. I’ve noticed that and tend to stay quiet.

At this point I’m more concerned about Mars releasing the Gorshin Riddler. Some of their stuff takes forever to release though.

There's good news and bad news.

The good news is that there's life on Mars.

The bad news is that the chef's still preparing the fat bird, and he isn't ready to go into the oven yet.

Not sure yet whether the specifics or the general background of what's happening at Mars can be shared.

I think it's been a tough year for a few companies for various reasons.
