You have, by far, been the most hateful person in this thread. And quite frankly, you're the only one driving division here.

I think most people would have been fine to share their excitement on the figure on keep it at that. You're the one following up posts and keeping it going. If you hate her that much, stop visiting the thread. Move on and ignore it. There's certainly figures I wouldn't want to see made, and I'd just avoid those threads, not go in and kick the beehive.

You're the one causing the problem here, and if you're just going to be someone who causes problems in a place we should be sharing a common interest, well, it'll make me sick to think that this kind of person posts here.

Again, utterly misunderstanding why you’re the one in the wrong.

Calling you out for describing someone who’s opinions differ from your own as a Nazi is not the same as ‘believing in what Carano said.’
Accepting that people don't always perfectly articulate and deliver their ideas and opinions in a way that’s accessible to everyone else’s sensibilities and world views also does not ‘out’ anyone as being the imaginary boogy man of your ideological crusade.

To say ‘I find the way she handles certain situations a little childish and her views can be ill-informed, ideologically driven and intentionally antagonistic’ would be a valid and reasonable criticism.

‘She’s a Nazi who deserved to be fired and I hate her’ is why you’ve come out of this as the far greater buffoon.

But you seem to be something of an extremist, which is why you have such a low resolution view of the world and can only think in binaries- all good or all bad.

The only clear cut fact is that you are all the way wrong in your thinking. Ironic for one presuming to posses a flawless morality and superior virtuousness, thus entitling you to police other’s thoughts.

I hope the thread doesnt get a load of posts deleted as I honestly find it fascinating and the responses to the instigator have been pretty calm and balanced for the most part, they serve as good examples of how to respond to such posters. (I also hate censoring and think that the convo being deleted would be a great loss of opinion that reflects the current climate. A nice slice of current popular political commentary, so maybe if it does get the hammer I hope a record of it can be saved)


Me personally? I don't know if I want to pick up the figure since I was not a huge fan of the character but then again she was the most convincing female fighter and the outfit is kinda cool. Maybe if it turns out good I will get one to stand next to Ahsoka.

As for the politics, I won't get into it beyond saying I agree with most here.

Totally understand why folks want to have this discussion, but this surely ain’t the place for it.

Now Mars, it’s cool they showed this, but we have no idea if they can deliver. Romero Joker, while awesome as **** and a figure in my collection, has not been proven to be an exception or the norm for Mars. Wishing them all the best as it would be cool to have this CHARACTER.

I loved the idea behind the character, but loathed the actresses’ execution. For me the third season is the most watchable. Was pretty glad when she was taken off the show, just in terms of character/performance preference.

Carano chose to poke the bear and paid the price. I personally find her politics onerous. But it wasn’t that long ago when I might have been fired from jobs for my leftist/socialist views. In the general sense, I don’t think people should face punitive measures over opinions. There’s a line, of course. But we have to be very careful when drawing it.

Regardless, Cara Dune is a fictional character created and maintained by lots of people. Enjoying the character is not an endorsement of Carano’s politics. Wanting a toy of a fictional rebel known for fighting against oppression can hardly be an endorsement of fascism.

I hope people get a good toy of the rebel hero they enjoy. I just wish it was official, as I have ethical problems with third party toys.

Kind of a shame the mods deleted the posts and didn't just give a warning to knock it off, I thought everyone handled that very well overall. No one was out of line except the initial instigator.

Oh well. Looking forward to this figure. Hope it sees the light of day. Would love if a company of Mars caliber starting to fill in the gaps that Hot Toys is missing.
