we are not all 10-30 years old.

The 1/6th hobby is actually anything but... it's mostly older men reliving their youth.

the second some over zealous fan posts anything about these on official channels, Mike and Babs will issue a C&D

Absolutely they will. But I suppose the unlicensed nature of 3rd party has the "advantage" of disregarding the creators in favor of us rabid fans who "always wanted this".

I want Blofeld, Largo and Red Grant, dammit -- license be damned!

I've grown tired of waiting for official releases. As these movies and collectors get older, I'll take what I can get. There could be perfect sculpts and tailoring in an official release 20 years from now, but what's the point, if my eyesight has deteriorated by then?

My eyesight started deteriorating when I was a teenager, I'm blind as a Bat without glasses. Twenty years time hmm. Id rather not think about that. :horror

As good as this sounds, if, as I suspect, these are unlicensed figures, the second some over zealous fan posts anything about these on official channels, Mike and Babs will issue a C&D and likely kill the license altogether. This needs careful handling. If Mars don't call it Bond, then neither should we.

If you see anything on official pages about these then the line will be dead before it's even started
If Limtoys was able to dodge Rockstar and the C&D they sent over - Mars Toys will be just fine. There might be some headaches but provided everyone is smart, these will come through.

We will see. It's up to the company and the retailers. If they're discrete then maybe they could get away with it. Rockstar don't carry the weight that Eon do and it's likely that, when R* saw the interest that the figures generated, and how good they were, they were probably glad of the publicity.

If I see the Mars Toys figures on the official Bond FB, it won't be long before Eon get wind. BCS must be hanging on by the skin of their teeth, considering the Bond license for SSC was killed when they saw the figures.

You nailed it. In this hobby there most likely will always be a better version of a figure eventually released but if it takes 15 years to arrive, I would be enjoying the initial release for that many years.

Tiffany Case. PLEASE. One of my favorite Bond girls because redheads like her are my cup of tea. LOL

I'll probably preorder as soon as they are up just to be safe. Don't want to take the risk of waiting and then have them removed from the site because of a C&D.

Same. Casino Royale is probably my favorite Bond film. I've been teetering on buying a custom Casino Royale full figure set that someone is offering by top artists (Toribox, RobbieThePainter, and Mina Yu) but it costs more than the InArt rooted deluxe Joker set :thud:
Would you mind providing a link for this? Would like to see it.

For me, figure choice is key. If I see another Dr No tux Bond or a FOURTH Roger from the climax of LALD then I’m going to find it hard to express any interest in this line. If they announce a Ninja outfit Bond from YOLT, ski chase Lazenby, or Tuxedo Bond with eight-armed Octopussy double pack… then they have my attention.

Gang

As one of the biggest JB fan out there, I am really looking forward to seeing what MT pulls off with this line. In the custom scene these days, a custom unpainted head alone can cost $400~ $500 which does not include paint, accessories or clothing! and these guys are making a full figure for about $200 with shipping.

There is really no better time than now to collect figures as 3rd party companies like MT are knocking each figure out the park! Who would have though we have now entered a golden era in the 1/6 hobby lead by companies like MT when everything these days have tripled in cost?
